The present disclosure generally relates managing display usage. In some embodiments, a device modifies various aspects of a displayed user interface as the device transitions from operating in a first device mode to operating in a second device mode. In some embodiments, the modifications involve altering the content included in a user interface and varying how the content is displayed.

Techniques for managing display usage

An electronic device displays a user interface including a slider control that represents a continuous range of values between a first value and a second value, the slider control includes a first end that corresponds to the first value and a second end that corresponds to the second value, and the slider control further includes a movable indicator configured to move along the slider control between the first and the second end. The device detects a contact on the slider control followed by a movement of the contact. In response to the movement detection, the device moves the moveable indicator along the slider control and generates a tactile output upon the moveable indicator reaching the first end of the slider control with a tactile output pattern configured based on a movement speed when the moveable indicator reaches the first end.

Devices, methods, and graphical user interfaces for providing haptic feedback

In some embodiments, an electronic device emphasizes and/or deemphasizes user interfaces based on the gaze of a user. In some embodiments, an electronic device defines levels of immersion for different user interfaces independently of one another. In some embodiments, an electronic device resumes display of a user interface at a previously-displayed level of immersion after (e.g., temporarily) reducing the level of immersion associated with the user interface. In some embodiments, an electronic device allows objects, people, and/or portions of an environment to be visible through a user interface displayed by the electronic device. A computing device receives an input that corresponds to a first part of a multi-part operation performed by an application executing on the computing device. In response to receiving the input corresponding to the first part of the multi-part operation, the computing device initiates an ongoing haptic output sequence. After initiating the ongoing haptic output sequence, the computing device receives an input that corresponds to a second part of the multi-part operation. In response to receiving the input corresponding to the second part of the multi-part operation, the computing device terminates the ongoing haptic output sequence.

An electronic device having a display and a physical input mechanism detects a request to display a flashlight user interface. In response to detecting the request, the device displays the flashlight user interface. While displaying the flashlight user interface, the electronic device detects an interaction with the physical input mechanism. In response to detecting the interaction, the electronic device changes a property of the illumination source that is used as the flashlight.
