An interactive knowledge based system for monitoring international tax status has a residency status analyzer and a tax treaty analyzer that cooperate to determine the residency status of an individual, based on the individual's visa history, travel to and from the US, and the applicability of any treaty for the individual. The residency analyzer evaluates visa history, travel and days in the US, as well as type of activity and any applicable treaty's tie-breaker rule to determine if residency status is affected and sets indicators accordingly. The tax treaty analyzer performs an income type analysis to determine if income is from employment services, self-employment, or scholarship and fellowship grants. The tax treaty analyzer evaluates the applicable treaty for the presence and terms of a saving clause. For each type of income, the Tax treaty analyzer determines whether treaty benefits are available for the individual based on the primary activities of the person, and the person's residency status. Results are displayed interactively and also sent electronically to several output files and formats, including appropriate tax forms, files to be sent to an institution's payroll system, and audit trails.

System and method for monitoring international tax status

An apparatus and associated method for accurately producing an accurate impression of a patient's teeth. The apparatus includes an improved impression tray assembly that more accurately models the teeth. The impression tray includes a segment of curable material having a top edge, a bottom edge, a face surface and a rear surface, wherein the face surface and the rear surface extend between the top edge and the bottom edge. The impression tray also includes a base plate having a peripheral edge and a groove disposed in the base plate proximate a section of the peripheral edge. The groove is adapted to receive the bottom edge of segment of curable material, thereby supporting the segment of curable material as a vertical wall. The combination of the base plate and the vertical wall of curable material produces an impression tray. The impression tray is filled with impression material and placed in the mouth. As a patient bites into the impression material, the vertical wall curable material can be molded to the contours of the teeth and gums. Once cured, the impression tray and impression material create a highly accurate impression that can be used to better model prosthetics.

Dental impression modeling method and apparatus

A single dental appliance that both alleviates snoring and protects teeth from bruxism. The appliance (10) has an upper section (12) which is mounted on the upper jaw. Opposing the upper section (12) is a lower section (14) which is mounted on the lower jaw. Both the upper and lower section have an anterior region (16, 18) and two posterior regions (20, 22; 24, 26). A hard outer shell (32, 34) secures in a soft inner liner (28, 30) which conforms with the teeth and cushions the jaw against impact forces. An anatomically dimensioned healing cap is provided for use during second stage surgery of a dental implant which preserves the actual tooth contour within the gingiva to facilitate accurate crown reproduction exhibiting a proper emergence profile. The healing cap has a housing that is dimensioned in accordance with the removed tooth and has a releasably securable insert that directly engages the head of any implant without scoring or damaging the implant. For posterior teeth, the healing cap can preserve the tooth cavity in the gingiva tissue even if the implant is mounted off-center of the original tooth location. The healing cap also provides an occlusal lip to prevent the overgrowth of gingiva tissue during second stage healing. Plastic burnout sleeves and cylinders are provided to enable dental technicians to more accurately and more efficiently create a crown or bridge. Healing cap models and an implant alignment indicator are provided to enable the dental surgeon to more accurately locate and align a dental implant in the initial stages of surgery.
