A reflector with an alignment recess is provided. The reflector has a recess portion that receives the base of a light emitting diode. At least a portion of an outer periphery of the base of the light emitting diode is adjacent at least portions of the recess portion of the reflector.

LED optical assembly

A lens frame for mounting and cooling LEDs is described. The lens frame () may be continuous and attachable to a luminaire () having a luminaire housing () with an opening (). The lens frame () may extend across and close the opening () of the luminaire housing (). The lens frame () may include a recessed support surface (), a lens attachment area () positioned outward from and peripherally of the support surface (), and heat dissipating structure () located peripherally of the support surface (). A plurality of LEDs () may be coupled to the support surface () of the lens frame () exteriorly of the luminaire housing () and a lens () may be coupled to the lens retaining area () of the lens frame ().

Reflector alignment recess

An LED optical assembly is provided having a heatsink, a support surface having a plurality of light emitting diodes, a plurality of reflectors, and a plurality of optical lenses. The heatsink is in thermal connectivity with the support surface. Each reflector is positioned over a corresponding light emitting diode and at least one optical lens is placed over a corresponding reflector.

Lighting device with composite reflector

The invention provides a floodlight in which the lamp axis is offset from the axis of a reflector. In the preferred embodiment an arc lamp is oriented vertically when the reflector axis is oriented at an oblique downward angle. The reflector includes a back reflector having a parabolic reflecting surface and a front reflector having at least one ellipsoidal reflecting surface disposed symmetrically about the reflector axis. In a preferred embodiment the front reflector is hinged to the back reflector and can be pivoted away from the back reflector to expose the lamp to facilitate cleaning and maintenance.
