Electrical contact arrangement

An electrical contact for an electrical connector includes a body having a mounting end and a mating end, a contact beam, and an anchoring region. The contact beam includes first and second edges that are laterally spaced from one another, and first and second broadsides that extend between the first and second edges. The anchoring region includes first, second, and intermediate portions. The first portion extends from the contact beam towards the mounting end, and has a first side that is spaced laterally outwards from the first edge. The second portion extends from the mounting end towards the first portion, and has a first side that is spaced laterally outwards from the first edge. The intermediate portion extends between the first portion and the second portion, and has a first side that is recessed laterally inwards from the first sides of the first and second portions.

Electrical contacts having anchoring regions with improved impedance characteristics

A receptacle includes a cage, a bezel opening in the cage, and at least one bezel clip mounted adjacent to the bezel opening. The at least one bezel clip includes first bezel fingers and second bezel fingers. The first bezel fingers are located along an inner surface of the cage. The second bezel fingers include outer fingers located along an outer surface of the cage and inner fingers located along the inner surface of the cage. The inner and outer fingers of the second bezel fingers are defined by the second bezel fingers passing through a through hole in the cage.

Vertical electrical connector system

An electrical system including (1) a printed circuit board including first and second signal pads located on a top surface of the printed circuit board and arranged to transmit a first differential signal, first and second signal vias extending through the printed circuit board and arranged to transmit the first differential signal, a first signal trace located on the top surface of the printed circuit board and connecting the first signal pad and the first signal via, and a second signal trace located on the top surface of the printed circuit board and connecting the second signal pad and the second signal via; and (2) a connector including first and second signal contacts arranged to transmit the first differential signal. The first differential signal transmitted through the printed circuit board and the connector has a common central axis.

Via structure for transmitting differential signals

A printed circuit board includes first and second signal pads located on a top surface of the printed circuit board and arranged to transmit a first differential signal, first and second signal vias extending through the printed circuit board and arranged to transmit the first differential signal, a first signal trace located on the top surface of the printed circuit board and connecting the first signal pad and the first signal via, and a second signal trace located on the top surface of the printed circuit board and connecting the second signal pad and the second signal via. The first and second signal vias are located on opposite sides of a line connecting the first and second signal pads.

Right-angle board-mounted connectors

An extension to USB includes an insulative tongue portion and a number of contacts held in the insulative tongue portion. The contacts have four conductive contacts and a plurality of differential contacts for transferring differential signals located behind/forward the four standard USB contacts along a front-to-rear direction. The four conductive contacts are adapted for USB 2.0 protocol and the plurality of differential contacts are adapted for non-USB 2.0 protocol. The extension to USB is capable of mating with a complementary standard USB 2.0 connector and a non-USB 2.0 connector, alternatively.

Extension to version 2.0 universal serial bus connector with additional contacts

A stacked pluggable cage () in accordance with the present invention is adapted for receiving two transceivers (). The stacked pluggable cage includes a shielding shroud () defining a receiving space (), and a first and a second intermediate walls () inserted in the shielding shroud. The first and second intermediate walls are disposed adjacent to each other to divide the receiving space into a first and a second receiving subspaces () for receiving the transceivers respectively. Each intermediate wall has a body portion (), and a number of flexible fingers () extending rearwardly from the body portion and tilting toward corresponding receiving subspace for grounding corresponding transceiver to thereby improve EMI performance.
