A control system is for a lock of a door movably disposed within a frame and having a latch engageable with the frame, an interior handle connected with the latch and an exterior handle connectable with the latch. A connective mechanism is configured to releasably connect the exterior handle with the latch and an input device is configured to generate an unlock signal. A controller is coupled with the input device and configured to operate the connective mechanism such that the mechanism connects the exterior handle with the latch. The controller is selectively operable in a standard mode where the controller operates the mechanism when the controller receives the unlock signal and a lockdown mode where the controller does not operate the mechanism when receiving the unlock signal. A lockdown-input device coupled with the controller is configured to generate a lockdown signal to switch the controller to the lockdown mode.

An internet based access point management system is accessible by at least one internet web browser configured to communicate one or more requests for modifying operation of one or more computer managed openings located at one or more facilities. The internet based access point management system includes at least one computer processor having a web server operative with the at least one computer processor. The web server is configured to receive and respond to one or more requests communicated from the at least one web browser. A database server which is also operative with the at least one computer processor and an application server further operative with the at least one computer processor are also provided. The application server is configured to communicate with the web server and the database server for processing requests. The processing of requests including formulating system commands in response to the requests. A communication link is configured to connect the application server and the one or more computer managed openings for communication therebetween. The communication includes system commands which modify operation of the one or more computer managed openings. A method of managing is also presented.

Internet based access point management system

A door security system for a door having an electrically actuated lock. The lock is controlled by a lock controller having an audit trail memory. An entry code reader transmits entered access codes to the controller. The controller compares the entered access code to prestored access codes and actuates the lock in response to the comparison. The controller stores the entered access code and a time stamp in the audit trail memory.

An electronic door security system employs an input console having three readers for enhanced security. A microprocessor processes inputs applied at each of the readers to selectively permit access through a secured door. Application of an input to any of the readers transforms the controller from a sleep mode to an active mode.

Multiple access electronic lock system

An electromagnetic door lock has an electromagnet and an armature for bonding thereto. One of the electromagnet and the armature is adapted for mounting to a door and the other of the electromagnet and the armature is adapted for mounting to a door frame. A lock controller pulses current to the electromagnet. The pulses have a predetermined width and a predetermined spacing between pulses.

An electronic door security system employs an input console having two readers for enhanced security. A microprocessor processes inputs applied at each of the readers to selectively permit access through a secured door. Application of an input to either reader transforms the controller to a power-up mode.

Programmers for an entry control system employ data carriers housing ROM chips. The ROM chips are affixed with unique elemental codes. A keypad addresses the chips in one-to-one correspondence with the keys to transmit the unique elemental codes to the programmable processor of the entry control system.

An electronic lock assembly mounts to the opposite sides of a door to provide an electronically operable level of security. An electronic reader generates a signal which is employed to control the operation of a conventional latch installation. A card reader, key pad or contact activatable data port generates a signal to actuate a motor to disengage a locking dog to thereby allow rotation of the latch handle. The motor shaft is connected to a drive screw by a coil spring to permit proper operation if a jamming condition is present. A privacy switch may be operated by an occupant of the room to block actuation of the motor, thereby denying entry to the room. A permanent magnet mounted in the door frame activates a reed switch on opening of the door, disabling the privacy switch and preventing inadvertent disablement of the electronic lock when the room is not occupied.

Privacy protection for electronic lock system

Programmers for an entry control system, which operates to automatically control access to an area upon contact of an electronic key with a data port, employ data carriers housing ROM chips. The chips have a unique data code which corresponds to an elemental key or a code. In one form of the programmer, a membrane keypad addresses the ROM chips for inputting commands to program a controller. In other embodiments, the programming chips are mounted to a flexible board and are positionable to directly contact a receptacle port for the controller.

An exit bar has an elongated body for mounting on an exit door. The exit bar incorporates a pair of independent sensors. An infrared beam is generated along the front of the bar. An infrared detector produces a first signal when the beam is interrupted. The first signal results in release of a lock securing the door. If the beam is interrupted for longer than a pre-set time limit, a first alarm sounds. A capacitance sensor produces a second signal when the sensor detects changes of capacitance in the bar as a result of contact or near contact with foreign objects. The second signal also results in release of the lock securing the door. If the capacitance sensor detects a capacitance change for longer than a pre-set time limit, a second alarm sounds.

An electromagnetic door lock system employs an on-board microprocessor which is mounted in the housing for the electromagnet. The microprocessor is pre-programmed with possible operating parameters which are then selected at the installation site. In one embodiment, a contact activatable data reader is mounted at the housing to provide various input data for the microprocessor. The microprocessor is also capable of being interrogated to reveal the preset operating parameters and other information, including the identification of individuals requesting to egress through the associated doorway.

Electromagnetic door lock with on-board programmable access control

An exit door security system which employs an electromagnet and armature to lock an exit door comprises an electromagnetic housing and a frame assembly. The housing is pivotally mounted to the frame assembly. An attempt to exit the door causes the housing to pivot to thereby actuate a switch. The lock is automatically released after a pre-established time delay. An alarm at the door may also be actuated by the switch. The electronic circuitry is configured to allow for immediate authorized egress and to implement an immediate safety release of the lock. The lock may be operated in either a normally locked or normally unlocked mode.

Door security system

A reliable electronic lock comprises means for reading a key card upon insertion and withdrawal. Sets of data read from the key card are compared to CRC data read from the key card to determine which set contains actual data and no false data erroneously read by the electronic lock. The CRC data is stored in scrambled form on the card to minimize the possibility of match to a set of actual and false data.

Code reader

An electronic lock includes a bolt having a fully extended position when a door is closed and a partially extended position when the door is open. The lockset is selectively placed in a locked state when the bolt is in its fully extended position. A switch is responsive to the position of the bolt and has a first operating position when the bolt is fully extended and a second operating position when the bolt is partially extended. A processor is responsive to the switch for preventing the selective locking of the bolt when the bolt is partially extended.
