A dual strap apparatus is disclosed for use with a golf bag of the type having a generally tubular body with an open top end and a closed bottom end. The dual strap apparatus includes a V-shaped shoulder strap having first and second portions that extend in opposed directions from a vertex. A first coupling strap is connected between the strap first portion and the body top end, and a second coupling strap is connected between the strap second portion and a location on the body intermediate the top and bottom ends of the body. In one embodiment of the dual strap apparatus, first and second hold-down straps are coupled to a common point on the vertex of the shoulder strap. The first hold-down strap is connected to the body top end, and the second hold-down strap is connected to the body at another location intermediate the body top and bottom ends. In another embodiment of the dual strap apparatus, a single hold-down strap is coupled to a point on the vertex of the shoulder strap. The single hold-down strap is connected to the body top end and to the body at another location intermediate the body top and bottom ends.

A golf bag is provided with a throat structure disposed in an open top end of a generally tubular body with the throat structure having an opening formed therethrough that is divided into an open portion and an offset portion which is closed at its upper end. An elongated stay is located in a longitudinal position inside the tubular body, and the stay is inserted therein by moving it downwardly through the open portion of the throat structure opening. A retainer clip is removably mounted in the throat structure opening to retain an upper end of the stay in the offset portion of the opening. Removal of the stay may be accomplished by removing the retainer clip from the throat structure opening which allows movement of the stay upper end from the offset portion into the open portion so that the stay may be removed through the throat structure opening.

A vibration dampening insert for use in golf clubs includes a plug member located inside a shaft of a golf club. The plug member has a plurality of cavities formed therein, and a plurality of spherical weight members are disposed in the plurality of cavities. The plug member is made of an elastomeric material, and the spherical weight members consist of steel balls. The vibration dampening insert dampens vibration resulting when a club head of a golf club impacts a golf ball so that vibration is prevented from being transmitted to a golfer who is swinging the golf club.

A cover for a golf bag throat structure is constructed to be easily removable from and reattachable to the throat structure. The cover includes an outer portion for covering a peripheral ring on the throat structure, and an inner portion for covering cross bars on the throat structure. The cover outer portion includes a first side wall disposed inside the peripheral ring, a second side wall disposed outside the peripheral ring, and a top wall connecting the side walls. A strip of material mounted on the first side wall is arranged for interlocking engagement with an internal lip extending circumferentially of the throat structure on the peripheral ring. The cover inner portion is substantially U-shaped in cross section including a pair of flanges that are detachably fastened together in order to attach the cover inner portion to the cross bars on the throat structure.

A mounting device for displaying items on slatwall having grooves of T-shaped cross section formed therein. The mounting device comprises a base having a pin projecting rearwardly therefrom for extending through the open throat of the T-groove of the slatwall. The distal end of the pin has a transverse cross bar thereon which is aligned with the open throat of the T-groove and moved therethrough into the channel portion of the groove when the device is being mounted on the slatwall, and then the entire device is then rotated about its longitudinal axis to turn the cross bar into a transverse position relative to the channel. The cross bar of the mounting device is of special configuration so that a wedging action occurs when the device is rotated to move the cross bar into it's transverse position which firmly and demountably attaches the device to the slatwall. A support fixture is interchangeably carried by the base of the mounting device for supporting various articles to be displayed on the slatwall.

A tassel for joining the ends of a draw cord of the type used for closing of a fabric bag, or optionally for mounting on the end of a pull cord of the type used for operating a lamp. The tassel includes a shell having a downwardly opening cavity with a cord end or ends receiving aperture formed through the top. A plug is demountably carried in the cavity of the shell and cord gripping elements are formed in the shell and on the plug for frictionally holding the cord end or ends in the tassel structure.
