An apparatus for measuring a rate of liquid flow through a spray nozzle includes a container with an opening in a top thereof adapted to receive a liquid discharge from a spray nozzle. A level sensor comprises an electrical capacitor oriented substantially vertically in the container and configured such that as liquid rises in the container, a capacitance of the capacitor changes. A processor circuit is connected to the capacitor and is operative to measure the change in capacitance of the capacitor and convert the change in capacitance into a rate of liquid flow into the container, and a display is operative to display the rate of liquid flow. The apparatus is applicable to an agriculture or industrial application whereby an operator can periodically check the flow to determine wear or plugging of a spray nozzle.

Measuring liquid flow rate from a nozzle

A battery powered ignition and control system for a gas burner includes circuits for controlling a pilot burner, a main burner, a flame sensor and an igniter. Mechanically latched valves, which require power only to switch between and open and closed state are used to control the pilot and main gas. The circuitry spends a majority of time in a powered down state and draws power only when required to interrogate the state of the flame and to perform an ignition sequence as required, as periodically dictated by a watchdog system. The latching valves are electrically pulsed to change state and thus draw very low average power when called upon. Lithium batteries provide system power for a long duration.

Burner ignition and control system

A method and apparatus for high-speed scanning of electromagnetic emission levels includes a synchronizer for synchronizing scanning of a device under test with digitizing a output video signal from a spectrum analyzer. The synchronizer can be responsive to a synchronization signal from the device under test or can generate a synchronization signal to the device under test. Methods for calibrating the level and frequency of the video output signal are provided. Once calibrated the high-speed scanning can be used to develop single probe multifrequency/time scans yielding amplitude versus frequency and time plots, and single frequency multiple probe/time scans yielding amplitude versus space and time plots.

Method and apparatus for high-speed scanning of electromagnetic emission levels

Apparatus and method are provided for measuring the series resistance of each individual cell of a battery bank for establishing the readiness of the batteries. The invention comprises a switch in series with a load, connected across each cell of the battery. An electronic switch momentarily imposes the load on the cell and the value of the current drawn from the battery and the voltage across it is measured with an A/D device. A controller directs a plurality of the switched loads on a plurality of cells. The A/D device and controller on each cell communicates their measurements to a remote host computer, preferably via an RF serial modem. The host computer calculates the internal resistance and provides alarm and other reporting functions. Further, as the measurement imposes a small energy drain on the cell, through independent adjustment of the frequency of measurement for each cell, over-charging of the individually cells can be equalized.
