A device for use in a laboratory and operable as both a centrifuge and a magnetic stirrer includes a housing defining a cavity therein, a motor coupled to the housing, and a spindle driven by the motor and rotatable about a first axis. The device also includes a first rotor removably couplable to the spindle and configured to support at least one tube therein, and a second rotor removably couplable to the spindle and including at least one magnet. The device also includes a controller in communication with the motor and operable in a first mode of operation when the first rotor is coupled to the spindle and operable in a second mode of operation when the second rotor is coupled to the spindle.

A test tube holding assembly or test tube rack includes at least two test tube holders, where each test tube holder in turn defines a central longitudinal axis, two storage zones, and includes a connecting member. The connecting members permit coupling of the two test tube holders and rotation of the two coupled test tube holders about an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of at least one of the test tube holders. The test tube holders are also positionable in multiple orientations, where each orientation at least partially determines which of the two storage zones are available to receive a test tube therein.

The present invention includes a pipette stand having a base, a trunk extending from the base, and a holding assembly coupled to the trunk. The holding assembly forms one or more apertures configured to receive at least a portion of a pipette therein, and the one or more apertures define a first width. The pipette stand also includes an insert removably couplable to the holding assembly and configured to modify the first width.

A test tube holder is configurable to support a combination of a first test tube type and a second test tube type. The test tube holder has a base and a plurality of independently adjustable support members, each coupled to and rotatable with respect to the base between a first position, where the support member is configured to support the first test tube type, and a second position, where the first support member is configured to support the second test tube type.
