A contactor for an air temperature and humidity control device is provided including a plurality of contact modules. Each contact module has a generally porous sidewall configured to define an internal space through which a hygroscopic material flows. A first airstream passes over a first portion of the plurality of contact modules. A second airstream passes over a second portion of the plurality of contact modules.

Regeneration air mixing for a membrane based hygroscopic material dehumidification system

An air temperature and humidity control device is provided including a heat pump and a humidity controller. The heat pump has a condenser, a first evaporator, a compressor, and a second evaporator. The humidity controller includes a first contactor fluidly coupled to the second evaporator. The first contactor includes at least one contact module having a porous sidewall that defines an internal space through which a liquid desiccant flows. A liquid source is coupled to the first contactor such that a second liquid provided by the liquid source flows through the first contactor adjacent an external side of the porous sidewall. Heat and/or water vapor transfers between the second liquid and the liquid desiccant.

Dehumidification system for air conditioning

A heat exchanger includes a plurality of flattened, multi-channel heat exchange tubes of generally J-shape extending between an inlet header and an outlet header. Each heat exchange tube has a base bend that extends horizontally between the vertically extending relatively shorter leg, which is in fluid flow communication with the fluid chamber of the inlet header, and the vertically extending relatively longer leg, which is in fluid flow communication with the fluid chamber of the outlet header.

Multi-channel flat-tube heat exchanger

A heat exchanger includes a plurality of multi-channel heat exchange tubes extending between spaced inlet and outlet headers. Each heat exchange tube has a plurality of flow channels defining discrete flow paths extending longitudinally in parallel relationship from its inlet end to its outlet end. The inlet header has a channel for receiving a two-phase fluid from a fluid circuit and a chamber for collecting the fluid. The chamber has an inlet in flow communication with the channel and an outlet in flow communication with the plurality of fluid flow paths of the heat exchange tubes. The channel defines a relatively high turbulence flow passage that induces uniform mixing of the liquid phase refrigerant and the vapor phase fluid and reduces potential stratification of the vapor phase and the liquid phase within the fluid passing through the header.

Mini-channel heat exchanger header

A refrigerated merchandiser includes a display case defining a product display region having an open-front isolated from the ambient air of the store by means of a downwardly directed inner air curtain of relatively cold refrigerated air and a downwardly directed outer air curtain of relatively warmer air established via an improved curtain air admission assembly. The curtain air admission assembly defines a plenum atop the refrigerated display through which the flow of air substantially reverses direction when passing from a first flow passage to a second flow passage. This reversal of flow direction serves to distribute the air flow more uniformly along the length of the display case.

A heat exchanger has a first thermally conductive tube for conducting a fluid and a second thermal conductive tube for conducting a fluid. The first thermally conductive tube forms a first loop while the second thermally conductive tube forms a second loop. The first loop neighbors the second loop.
