A compressor assembly having a high velocity muffler system which produces a particle-free compressor pump feed while reducing noise output from the compressor assembly during compressing operations. The high velocity muffler system is maintenance-free and comprises an inertia filter. The compressor assembly uses a method for producing a compressor pump feed and reducing noise during compressing operations by processing a gas through the high velocity muffler system which has an inertia filter and a muffler chamber to produce a compressor pump feed which can be compressed by a pump assembly.

A cordless compressor has an air storage tank, a pump for pressuring air within the air storage tank, a motor driving pump, a power tool battery pack connected to the motor, a discharge port connected to the air storage tank, and a regulator disposed between the discharge port and the air storage tank. The pump can raise the air pressure within the air storage tank from 0 psi to about 135 psi in less than 135 seconds. With such arrangement, a compressor having an air pressure within the air storage tank of 135 psi set at a 70 psi setting can power an 18 gauge nailer connected to the compressor to drive more than 1200 nails on a single battery charge.

A compressor assembly having a tank seal which seals a tank gap between a portion of a housing of the compressor assembly and a portion of a compressed gas tank and a method for controlling the sound level of a compressor assembly by configuring a tank seal to seal a gap between the housing of a compressor assembly and a compressed gas tank. The sound level of the compressor assembly can be controlled by sealing a tank gap between at least a portion of a compressor assembly housing and at least a portion of a compressed gas tank.

Sound level of a compressor can be controlled by separating the internal volume of a housing which encases at least a portion of a pump assembly to create sound control chambers and/or eliminating an operator's line-of-sight view to noise producing components of the compressor assembly.

A compressor assembly having an air ducting shroud that can direct a cooling air stream from a fan to components of the compressor assembly, such as a pump assembly. The pump assembly can have at least a pump, a motor and a fan. The compressor can be cooled by providing cooling air to a cylinder head of the pump without the cooling air experiencing choking or substantial cooling flow interference from a cooling of the motor.

A multi-pressure compressor that includes a roll-cage frame, first and second compressor assemblies mounted in the roll-cage frame, a tank coupler, which is in fluid communication with the second compressor and is configured to be coupled to an auxiliary tank that is rated for an internal pressure in excess of 2500 psi, a bracket that is coupled to the roll-cage frame and configured to receive the auxiliary tank therein, and at least one controller for operating the first and second compressor assemblies.
