Regarding a first radio frequency (RF) carrier, a network node of a wireless communication network configures two or more bandwidth parts (BWPs) in the first RF carrier, each BWP aligning with a respective one of two or more other RF carriers positioned within the RF spectrum spanned by the first RF carrier. The node determines a frequency-sharing configuration for each BWP, in dependence on radio resource usage of the respective other RF carrier and configures wireless communication devices to use respective ones of the BWPs. For example, the node determines a resource-usage pattern for control-related signaling conveyed on the other RF carriers and transmits rate-matching information for the BWPs of the first RF carrier. Each BWP occupies RF spectrum used by a respective one of the other RF carriers, and the rate-matching information transmitted for each BWP depends on the resource-usage pattern determined for the respective other RF carrier.

Method and apparatus for spectrum sharing in wireless communication networks

A method and network node configured to perform wireless network virtualization to allocate resources of an infrastructure provider (InP) among a plurality of service providers (SPs) are provided. According to one aspect, a method in a network node includes, in each of a plurality of successive time slots in a time interval, T: receiving precoding feedback information from each SP, allocating a virtual transmit power to each cell served by an SP based at least in part on the received precoding feedback information and determining a precoding matrix for each SP. Embodiments of a method and network node for managing wireless devices (WDs) in a network are disclosed. In some embodiments, the method comprises grouping the plurality of WDs into clusters based at least in part on correlations between channels of the WDs. The method also includes determining beam forming weights for each cluster, the grouping into clusters and the determining of beam forming weights being performed to minimize a total transmit power to the plurality of WDs.

Responsive to the change, the user device can trigger a buffer status report for transmission to a second network node of the plurality of network nodes on a second radio link of the plurality of radio links for which a change in an amount of uplink data available for transmission in a second uplink buffer was not determined. The network node includes processing circuitry configured to: assign a plurality of wireless devices respective sounding reference signal, SRS, sequences of a common set of SRS sequences where the common set of SRS sequences are shared among a first radio access technology, RAT, and a second RAT, and receive SRS sequences according to the assignment of the respective SRS sequences of the common set of SRS sequences.

Sharing of sounding reference signals (SRS) resources between new radio and long term evolution

Embodiments of methods in a base station and a UE are disclosed. In some embodiments, a method implemented in a network node includes any one or more of: selectively puncturing transmission of LTE CRS symbols that overlap NR DMRS symbols in a downlink transmission time interval; selectively puncturing transmission of NR DMRS symbols that overlap LTE CRS symbols in the downlink transmission time interval; and selectively reducing a number of NR DMRS symbols transmitted to the UE in the downlink transmission time interval. In some embodiments, a method implemented in a UE includes identifying, in a downlink channel, subchannels containing NR DMRS symbols that are corrupted due to collision with LTE CRS symbols. For each identified subchannel: a respective time averaged channel estimate is determined based on NR DMRS symbols that are not corrupted due to collision with the LTE CRS symbols; and a respective MMSE weight is determined using the time averaged channel estimate.

Collision management of LTE NR reference signals

A method, system and apparatus for sharing of physical random access channel (PRACH) resources between New Radio (NR) and Long Term Evolution (LTE) radio access technologies (RATs) are disclosed. According to one aspect, a network node is provided. The network node includes processing circuitry configured to: receive a physical random access channel, PRACH, signal from a wireless device; correlate the PRACH signal with one of at least two orthogonal sequences from a common set of sequences shared among a first radio access technology, RAT, and a second RAT; and determine whether the wireless device is operating according to one of the first RAT and the second RAT based at least in part on the correlation.

Sharing of physical random channel resources among different radio access technologies

There is provided mechanisms for transmission of NR control information in an LTE downlink subframe. At least two symbols in the subframe are allocatable for LTE control information. A method is performed by a network node. The method comprises configuring resource elements for LTE transmission and resource elements for NR transmission within the subframe such that NR control information is allocated to resource elements of at least one symbol within the at least two symbols allocatable for the LTE control information in the subframe. The method comprises initiating transmission of the subframe from co-sited antennas, such that the resource elements for LTE transmission and the resource elements for NR transmission are transmitted from the co-sited antennas.

Transmission of NR control information in an LTE downlink subframe

A method and apparatus are disclosed for LTE-NR spectrum sharing. In one embodiment, a method for a wireless device (WD) includes obtaining a configuration of at least one reference signal of a first radio access technology that overlaps in time with a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service Single Frequency Network, MBSFN, subframe of a second radio access technology. In another embodiment, a method for a network node includes configuring at least one reference signal of a first radio access technology to overlap in time with a MBSFN subframe of a second radio access technology.

A method, network node and processor for processing uplink signals transmitted from a wireless device (WD) to provide a combination of quantize-forwarding and decode-forwarding relayed signals in massive multiple input multiple output (MIMO) heterogeneous networks (HetNets). According to one aspect, whether quantize-forwarding or decode-forwarding is used depends on a ratio of a quality of a WD signal received at a Small Cell Base Station (SCBS) to a quality of the WD signal received at a Macro Cell Base Station (MCBS). When the ratio is less than a first threshold, signals received at the SCBS may be quantize-forwarded to the MCBS and when the ratio exceeds a second threshold larger than the first threshold, signals received at the SCBS may be decode-forwarded to the MCBS. When the ratio lies between the first and second threshold, signals received at the SCBS may be quantize-forwarded to the MCB.

A method and network node for online coordinated multi-cell precoding are provided. According to one aspect, a method includes receiving from each of the plurality of service providers a virtual precoder matrix determined by the corresponding service provider. The method also includes determining a precoder matrix by minimizing a precoding deviation from a virtualization demand of the network subject to at least one power constraint, the virtualization demand being based at least in part on a product of a channel state matrix and a virtual precoder matrix.
