A smart carrier has a housing comprising one or more docking locations configured to accept a secure receptacle, a wireless interface module disposed within the housing, and a processor disposed within the housing and operatively coupled to the one or more docking locations and the wireless interface module. The processor is configured to communicate with an external device through the wireless interface module and with a secure receptacle that is mated with one of the one or more docking locations. The smart carrier also has a battery disposed within the housing and configured to provide all operational power to the processor, the wireless interface module, and the one or more docking locations.

Secure medication transport

The present invention encompasses an electronic device that comprising two housings connected via a hinge. The two housing are capable of rotating about one and another. The two housing may be rotated to place the electronic device in an open or closed position. Electronic device further comprises at least two scroll dials, allowing the user to operate various functions in either the closed position or the open position. A display is provided that automatically adjust orientation to allow the user to view the information provided on the display in either open or closed position. The electronic device also provides for adjusting the audio functionalities based on the position of the electronic device.

Communication device with rotating housing

An apparatus including a first housing section having a first one-piece housing member; a second housing section having a second one-piece housing member; and a hinge rotatably connecting the first and second housing sections to each other. The hinge includes the first housing member forming a first hinge section at a first end of the first housing section which is pivotably connected to a second hinge section formed by the second housing member at a second end of the second housing member. The first and second hinge sections form opposite outer lateral ends of the hinge. The first and second hinge sections are spaced from outer lateral sides of the first and second housing sections. An axis of rotation of the hinge extends generally between the outer lateral sides.

Recessed hinge

An IV tube occluder is disclosed which has a bow portion and a linkage portion which act to occlude an IV tube to prevent unwanted flow of liquid to a patient. The linkage portion and bow portion are engaged to allow the ends of the linkage portion to rotate within a certain range. The linkage portion has an extending pinching member which is used to occlude a portion of flexible tubing by pressing the tube against the bow portion. The pinching member of the linkage portion moves against the bow portion through the provision of a hinge portion of the linkage portion, which allows the pinching member to hold the tube in an open or closed position. In an alternative embodiment, both the bow portion and linkage portion are formed as a continuous body.
