The various aspects presented herein relate to methods for the reduction, prevention and/or inhibition of the oxidation of perfume ingredients, formulated perfumes, formulated body care products, formulated skin care products, formulated homecare products, essential oils, food raw materials, formulated food products and natural extracts.

Prevention of the oxidation of perfumery raw materials and food raw materials

Described herein is a perfuming composition including at least two pro-perfume compounds selected from: a pro-perfume compound releasing a perfume compound upon exposure to light, a pro-perfume compound releasing a perfume compound upon exposure to air/oxygen, a pro-perfume compound releasing a perfume compound upon exposure to heat, a pro-perfume compound releasing a perfume compound upon exposure to moisture, and a pro-perfume compound releasing a perfume compound upon exposure to enzymes. Also described herein is a perfumed consumer product including such a perfuming composition, as well as the use of the perfuming composition for improving, enhancing, conferring, and/or modifying the fragrance impression and/or fragrance intensity of a consumer product.

Pro-perfume compositions

Described herein are compounds of formula (I) as properfume compounds. In particular, described herein is a method to release a compound being a ketone of formula (II), a formate ester of formula (III), and/or an alcohol of formula (IV) by exposing the compound of formula (I) to an environment wherein it is oxidized. Moreover, a perfuming composition and a perfumed consumer product including at least one compound of formula (I) are also described.

Alkyl enol ether properfume

Described herein are compounds of formula (I) as properfume compounds, as well as a method to release a compound being a carbonyl of formula (II), a formate ester of formula (III) and/or an alcohol of formula (IV), by exposing the compound of formula (I) to an environment wherein it is oxidized. Also described herein are a perfuming composition and a perfume consumer product including at least one compound of formula (I).

Enol ether properfume

Described herein are properfume compounds. Also described herein is a method to release a compound being a ketone or aldehyde, a formate ester and/or an alcohol by exposing a properfume compound to an environment wherein it is oxidized. Also described herein is a perfuming composition and a perfume consumer product comprising at least one properfume compound.

Enol ether pro perfume

Precursor or pro-fragrance compounds used as a precursor to deliver at least one fragrant compound that is capable of imparting an odor, in particular one which imparts an odor to a material, more particularly to a fabric or textile. The pro-fragrant compounds of the invention include fragrant alcohols (ROH) released from a compound of Formula I or in which Formula I is derived from (ROH) and encompass any fragrant alcohol having more than three carbon atoms. Also, methods of generating the fragrant compounds and to improve, enhance or modify odoriferous properties of a perfuming composition or a perfumed article are also disclosed, as are the resultant perfuming compositions and articles.

Pro-fragrance compounds

A compound is provided of Formula (I) wherein Rrepresents a Cto Chydrocarbon group derived from an alcohol of formula ROH, from a formate of formula ROCH&#x2550;O, or a cinnamyl aldehyde of Formula (II) wherein a compound of Formula I is capable of releasing a compound, when oxidized, selected from the group consisting of a fragrant alcohol of formula ROH, a fragrant formate ester of formula ROCH&#x2550;O and aryl aldehyde of Formula (III) wherein Ris, independently, hydrogen atom, hydroxyl group, optionally substituted C-Calkyl group, C-Calkoxy group, or &#x2014;O(C&#x2550;O)CH(CH3)wherein any two of Rmay form an optionally substituted 5 or 6 membered ring. The compounds are useful for example as a precursor for the prolonged delivery or release of fragrant compounds such as fragrant alcohols, fragrant aldehydes or fragrant formates.

Provided herein is a compound having the formula I wherein Rand Rare independently selected from a branched or straight Calkyl and a Calkenyl, n is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 and x is independently 0, 1, or 2; provided that when n is 1, x is 2. Also provided herein is a method of releasing acetaldehyde into an aqueous solution including delivering a compound of formula I to the aqueous solution, Also provided is a flavor or aroma-modifying composition including i) a flavor or aroma-conferring or modifying ingredient, at least one compound according to formula (I); ii) at least one ingredient selected from the group consisting of a flavor carrier and a flavor base; and iii) optionally at least one flavor adjuvant.

Provided herein are flavor particles containing encapsulated precursors of acetylaldehyde. Also provided herein are methods of making and using the particles.

Provided herein is 5-(2-(1-ethoxyethoxy)propan-2-yl)-2-methyl-2-vinyltetrahydrofuran and its use as a flavor and aroma modifier in foods and beverages.

Divinyl ether derivatives capable of releasing active aldehydes and ketones and methods of use for perfuming surfaces

The present invention relates to the field of organic synthesis. More particularly it provides a process for making aromatic non-conjugated enol esters or enol ethers from an aromatic compound or moiety and a protected enal compound or moiety, such as an acetal or an acylal. The reaction is promoted by a salt of formula MX, M representing a transition metal such as Zn or Fe and X representing a mono-anion, or by BY, wherein Y represents a fluoride or a phenyl group optionally substituted.

Catalytic scriabine reaction

The present invention relates to a process for making indenol esters or ethers from an &#x3b1;-substituted cinnamic aldehyde derivative such as an acetal or an acylal. Said reaction is promoted by the use of strong mineral acids, sulphonic acids, acidic zeolites or Lewis acids.
