An LED light fixture and methods are provided in which the light from central portions of the LED light sources are reflected to illuminate areas on the periphery of an associated area, while less intense light from the sides of the LED light sources illuminate interior portions of the associated area to produce a uniform illumination, both horizontally and vertically, while minimizing direct glare from the light sources. The LED light fixture includes a heat sink having cooling fins on the periphery of the housing.

A light fixture includes a lamp engine, an electronic module connected to the lamp engine and a photometric module mounted to the light engine. The electronic module is connected to the light source and an associated power source for providing power to the light source. The photometric module mounts to the light engine and creates a beam pattern that illuminates a substantial portion of an entire associated subject area. The method of illuminating a large area includes determining a subject area to be illuminated by a plurality of light sources and determining a desired lighting criteria for the subject area. A first light source is provided and light emitted from the first light source is directed to illuminate the subject area. Additional light sources are provided and directed to provide additional light to illuminate the same portion of the subject area until the desired lighting criteria are met.

Modular fixture and sports lighting system

A high lumen output illumination device includes a light source secured on a ballast housing and a reflector. At least one reflective element redirects light emanating from the source along a direction of interest. At least one support element gives the reflective element a useful optical shape and aids in the retention of the optical shape. The reflector is capable of being transitioned between two orientations, an open orientation, where the reflector is functional, and a collapsed orientation, where the reflector occupies a greatly reduced amount of space. The reflector includes a fastening means that allows the reflector to be removed from the ballast housing, and re-attached to the ballast housing when desired.
