This invention discloses a dielectric pipe flange gasket having the dual functions of providing a leak proof seal for the pipe flange joint and an electrically insulating barrier between flanges, which dielectric pipe flange gasket comprises a planar annular disc member of corrosion resisting metal sandwiched between two hard dielectric planar members respectively bonded to two faces thereof and a pair of ring seals made of dielectric elastomer respectively disposed in two annular seal grooves respectively included in two faces of the pipe flange gasket, wherein the depth of the grooves partially extend into the metallic planar annular disc member.

Dielectric pipe flange gasket

A ball type valve in which the ball is rotated by the cooperation of multiple tracks and multiple track followers. Also, a pressure operated permanent lock-out is disclosed. Pressure applied to a piston withdraws an expander from under a lock ring to release a lock-out sleeve. Continued application of pressure drives the sleeve to valve lock-open position where the sleeve is permanently locked to the housing.

Valve

A manually operated valve. The valve has a housing with a uniform outside diameter compatible with the outside diameter of flow conductors attached to the valve. An operating sleeve is movable longitudinally within the housing by engagement with a shifting tool from the exterior of the housing. The operating sleeve shifts the valve between its open and closed positions. A detent spring is provided to give an indication when the shifting tool has moved the operating sleeve sufficient to fully open or close the valve. The valve is particularly adapted for using in a drill string or workover string in an oil or gas well.

Safety valve

An electrical isolation, high pressure resistant gasket for API or ANSI seal ring flanges has four combined features. The gasket has two relatively thick, unyielding metal plates electrically separated from each other by an insulating material. The outer face surfaces of the metal plates are grooved for metal seal rings. The inner face surfaces have metal ridges. The insulating material electrically isolates the plates and the strength of the plates and metal ridges prevent distortion of the plates and blowout of the insulation material. Preferably, the metal ridges extend inwardly overlapping each other. The metal plates may be made of dissimilar metals.

High pressure electrical isolation flange gasket

An adjustable pipe union for tubing strings including an outer lower mandrel, an inner upper mandrel threaded along a lower end portion into the outer mandrel, packing between the mandrels, an annular seal chamber between the mandrels, a metal-to-metal seal assembly between the mandrels, and a jam nut threaded into an end portion of the outer mandrel around the inner mandrel against the metal-to-metal seal expanding the seal to lock the members together and seal between the members. A short embodiment of the union permits rotational orientation of tubing string apparatus such as valves. A longer embodiment of the union performs a spacing-out function for fitting a tubing string assembly between longitudinally spaced fixed members such as two packers.

Adjustable pipe union

There is disclosed an actuator and a kickover tool including an actuator in which force is applied through the actuator by hydraulic means in which force due to the pressure medium in which the tool is submerged is substantially balanced across the seals of the pressure chambers and in which the force acting on the tool due to the pressure of the medium in which the tool is submerged remains balanced in the event any one of the seals becomes ineffective.

A subsurface safety valve assembly for connection in a well pipe, including a valve member disposed in a valve body having a bore or passageway therethrough, a pair of spaced apart and oppositely facing valve seats in surrounding relation to an intermediate portion of the passageway, the valve positioned thereat and operable to open and close said passageway, a space within the valve body outwardly of the passageway therethrough, a control frame guidably movable within the space and having a piston associated therewith adapted to define first and second variable capacity pressure chambers within the space, means for moving the control frame in opposite longitudinal directions to open and close the valve, the means for moving the control frame including first and second ports, the first port providing fluid communication between the first variable capacity pressure chamber and an external source of pressure fluid, the second port providing fluid communication between the second variable capacity pressure chamber and the passageway through the valve body.

Subsurface safety valve

Disclosed is a tubing retrievable surface controlled subsurface safety valve having provisions for blocking communication of control fluid to the valve's pressure responsive operator and for locking the valve open in the event of valve failure.
