The system includes a medical device configured to obtain physiological information from the patient and generate a first plurality of log entries that mark events that occur during treatment of the patient. The system also includes a mobile device configured to receive input for generating a second plurality of log entries that mark events that occur during treatment, establish a communicative connection with the medical device to access the first plurality of time-stamped log entries, and present, during the treatment of the patient, a single consolidated event log that includes the first plurality of log entries and the second plurality of log entries.

Systems and methods for EMS device communications interface

A medical system includes a manual patient ventilation unit defining an airflow path arranged so that when the unit is applied to a patient the airflow path is in fluid communication with the patient's airway. The patient ventilation unit includes a ventilation bag configured to enable manual ventilation of the patient by a rescuer, an airflow sensor in the airflow path positioned to sense the presence of ventilation airflow and measure a gas flow rate in the airflow path, and a pressure sensor in the airflow path positioned to sense gas pressure in the airflow path. The system also includes a processor arranged to receive data generated by the airflow sensor and the pressure sensor and determine one or more ventilation quality parameters based at least in part on a gas flow volume calculated based on the sensed gas flow rate and gas pressures.

A system for providing role-based data feeds for a plurality of patient caregivers includes a portable central device and a patient data display screen. The central device is configured to obtain the medical data via one or more sensors and/or electrodes configured to couple to the patient and provide the medical data to mobile devices, optionally as multiple role-based data feeds. The central device may include software and hardware configured to feed the medical data to the mobile devices via multiple role-based data feeds. The patient data display screen is configured to display the medical data. Each mobile device may identify an associated type of medical data by displaying a screen enabling a caregiver to select the associated type of medical data based on their role, or may receive a respective role-based data feed from the central device. Each mobile device is configured to display the received medical data.

Example defibrillator electrode assemblies compression assemblies are described that may be dimensioned and configured for use on a patient despite physical constraints that limit the area or locations on a patient onto which an electrode assembly may be placed. Disclosed is a wearable cardiac therapeutic system including a plurality of therapy electrodes disposed in a garment and a fluid pressure source including a barrel configured to house the conductive gel and an actuation mechanism. A therapy controller is configured to detect an arrhythmic event in a patient based on sensed electrical activity of the patient's heart, initiate an activation signal indicating that the conductive gel is to be released on to the body of the patient, and cause the delivery of one or more electrical therapeutic shocks to the heart of the patient. Gel activator circuitry is configured to receive the activation signal from the therapy controller, and cause the fluid pressure source to expel the conductive gel onto the body of the patient proximate the one or more of the therapy electrodes and prior to the delivery of the one or more electrical shocks to the patient.

The controller is configured to: determine, based upon the signal from the proximity sensor, if the rescuer's hands have been released from the patient's chest, and trigger an action by the medical device in response to a determination that the rescuer's hands have been released from the patient's chest.

Among other things, in one aspect, we describe a system for assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The system includes at least one sensor; and one or more processors configured for calculating a chest compliance relationship based on data received from the at least one sensor, and determining a neutral position of chest compression based at least in part on a feature of the chest compliance relationship. The system can take the form of an active compression-decompression device.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate generally to the use of spectral sensors during a cardiac arrest event. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to the use of spectral sensors for measuring changes in pH and muscle oxygen saturation to estimate subject down time and evaluating the effectiveness of the clinical treatment administered during a cardiac arrest event. Given the narrow window of time in which emergency treatment must be administered, as well as the lack of information concerning the subject's condition, there is a need for a fast and accurate method of estimating the onset of the cardiac arrest emergency and evaluating the effectiveness of the emergency treatment being administered.

According to at least one aspect, a wearable cardiac device is provided. The wearable cardiac device includes a garment worn about a torso of a patient, at least one sensing electrode to monitor cardiac activity of the patient, and a controller including a plurality of separate and distinct modules distributed about and/or integrated into the garment. The plurality of separate and distinct modules includes, for example, an operations module coupled to the at least one sensing electrode and configured to detect at least one cardiac condition of the patient and/or a communications module coupled to the operations module to communicate with an external device. In some examples, the wearable cardiac device may be configured as a treatment device and include an energy storage module coupled to at least one therapy electrode and configured to store energy for at least one therapeutic shock to be applied to the patient.
