A method for conducting an offline data exchange associated with a blockchain includes: storing a structured data set associated with a blockchain network, the data set including a network identifier, unspent output hash, output index, output value, and key pair; receiving the network identifier and a transaction amount from a point of sale; validating the structured data set as including the network identifier and an output value greater than or equal to the transaction amount; transmitting the unspent output hash and output index to the point of sale; receiving a destination address from the point of sale; generating transaction data including the destination address and a payment amount based on the transaction amount; and transmitting the transaction data to the point of sale.

Method and system for offline blockchain exchanges

A method of transaction between a mobile payment device and a vending machine is described, together with a system and elements of a system supporting such a method of transaction. The method comprises establishing wireless contact between the mobile payment device and the vending machine. Vending machine transaction details are established between the mobile payment device and the vending machine. These vending machine transaction details are sent to a vending platform associated with a payment infrastructure where the vending machine transaction is authorized. The vending platform then provides an authorization token for the vending machine transaction, allowing the vending machine to enable vending when the authorization token has been received.

A method for displaying product details on a consumer device includes: preparing digital media for display on the device; detecting whether the digital media includes at least one product available for purchase; receiving a plurality of product data sets, each set associated with a product identifier and product details for an available product, the product details including information to initiate a transaction for the product; identifying an index of products in the digital media, the index including for each product a display location and a product identification number; receiving an indication from a user identifying a selected product in the digital media based on a display location in the digital media of the product and/or selection from a listing of the product in the index; retrieving product details for the product based on the product identification number and the product identifier; and displaying the retrieved product details.

Method and system for displaying product information on a consumer device

A method for indirectly controlling a website using a user communication device is disclosed. A unique machine-readable code is displayed on a display device, the unique machine-readable code being specific to the display device displaying contents from a website through a server. The unique machine-readable code is readable by a user communication device, the user communication device in turn being able to communicate with the server through a communication path not involving an input device associated with the display device. Commands to control content displayed through the server are received from the user communication device. The commands include the identity of the specific display device by the displayed unique machine readable code. The content displayed on the specific display device is then changed accordingly.

Method and system for indirect control of a website

A system for processing accounts includes a database configured to store a plurality of accounts, the accounts including a consumer account associated with a consumer and a plurality of merchant accounts including a transacting merchant account associated with a merchant, wherein at least one account includes an amount of a virtual currency associated with the account. The system further includes a processor configured to process a financial transaction, wherein the transaction includes the consumer and the merchant, is for a specified amount of virtual currency, and processing the transaction includes transferring the specified amount of virtual currency from the consumer account to the transacting merchant account. The processor is further configured to process the at least one account, wherein processing the at least one account includes converting the associated amount of virtual currency to or from a real currency when the at least one account meets a predetermined criteria.

Method and system for facilitating micropayments in a financial transaction system

A credit card system is provided which has the added feature of providing additional limited use credit card numbers and/or cards. These numbers and/or cards can be used for a single or limited use transaction, thereby reducing the potential for fraudulent reuse of these numbers and/or cards. The credit card system finds application to 'card remote' transactions such as by phone or Internet. Additionally, when a single use or limited use credit card is used for 'card present' transactions, so called &#x201c;skimming&#x201d; fraud is eliminated. Various other features enhance the credit card system, which will allow secure trade without the use of elaborate encryption techniques. Methods for limiting, distributing and using a limited use card number, controlling the validity of a limited use credit card number, conducting a limited use credit card number transaction and providing remote access devices for accessing a limited use credit card number are also provided.
