A method of producing a decorative radome includes providing a substrate having a first surface and a second surface; applying, to at least a portion of the second surface of the substrate, a decorative layer including a layer of a metal or an alloy having a metal and a metalloid; and overmolding at least the decorative layer with a radio-transmissive polymer to provide an overmolded layer as well as a decorative radome having a first layer with a radio-transmissive polymer, the first layer having a front surface; a second layer having a radio-transmissive polymer, the second layer having a rear surface; and a decorative layer, between at least a portion of the first and second layer.

The present disclosure relates to a cover for at least one antenna emitting or sensing electromagnetic radiation in at least one first frequency band, the cover includes at least one first surface facing the antenna and at least one second surface averted to the antenna, where the cover includes at least one substrate being transmissible for electromagnetic radiation and at least one first coating covering the substrate in at least one first area, the first coating being transmissible for electromagnetic radiation of at least the first frequency band, whereas the first coating is reflective for electromagnetic radiation falling onto the second surface and having a frequency within at least one second frequency band.

Cover for an antenna and method of producing such a cover

A lamp assembly for a vehicle is disclosed. The assembly includes a reflector having a proximal end and a distal end. The reflector has a surface having a plurality of reflective faces spread over an arc therebetween, the arc being generally concave. The reflector forms part of a recess, the recess having spaced-apart parallel walls. A light emitting diode (LED) light source is disposed near the proximal end of the reflector and remote from the distal end of the reflector and the light source is oriented to emit light onto the reflective faces. A lens is positioned in front of the reflector. The lens is arranged to receive light from the reflector. In use, light is output from the lens with a substantially uniform luminance over a viewing angle of at least 45 degrees in a plane.

Lamp assembly for a vehicle

A lamp assembly for illuminating a ground area adjacent a vehicle is disclosed. The assembly includes a housing; an outer lens covering the housing; a plurality of light emitting diode (LED) light sources arranged in the housing; and a reflector mounted in the housing. The light emitted from the plurality of LED light sources is captured by the reflector which reflects light towards the lens, the lens directing light generally downward towards the ground area. The light output from the lamp assembly appears to be emitted from a single light source.

A plastic mirror mounting system is proposed with a substrate made of plastic material coated with at least one reflective layer on a first surface. The plastic material has means to be connected to a mounting structure on the second surface of the plastic glass mirror. The plastic substrate includes at least three plastic mirror clips having at least one shoulder of plastic mirror clip that has a distance from the second surface so that no or almost no stress disturbs the reflective surface.

An external rear view mirror assembly to be fitted to a motor vehicle is disclosed. The assembly comprises: a mirror base mountable to a vehicle; a mirror head frame rotatably mounted to the base for rotation about a mirror head axis; a detent operably interposed between the base and the frame; a spring acting between the frame and the base in a direction parallel to the axis, the spring for holding the detent engaged; and a power fold mechanism operably interposed between the base and the frame, the power fold mechanism having a drive train and a clutch mechanism, the clutch mechanism comprising a pair of axially spaced apart clutching faces, connecting the drive train to the base when the drive train is driving, the clutch mechanism arranged and constructed such that forces are not transmitted from the frame to the drive train when the drive train is not driving.

A pivot and detent mechanism is disclosed. The mechanism includes: a basefor mounting on a vehicle; an armfor supporting a mirror head, the armpivotally connected to the baseto allow angular movement of the head, the arm having spaced apart first and second flexible branchesand'; and a deploy detent recess and a cooperating detent memberset, the deploy detent memberengageable with the detent recess to hold the mirror headwith respect to the basein a deployed position. The flexible branchesand&#x2032; are resiliently movable with respect to each other to allow disengagement and engagement of the deploy detent memberfrom the detent recess upon the application of sufficient force to the mirror headallowing the headto move from the deployed position to a non-deployed position. An improved pre-loaded spring is also disclosed.

Vehicle external rear view mirror with integral pivot detent assembly

A rear view mirror for a motor vehicle comprising a case containing a mounting platform which has a concave part-spherical recess. A reflective member is secured to a mirror carrier which has a hollow projection with a part-spherical outer surface dimensioned to be a sliding fit in the recess a part-spherical inner surface and a diametrically oriented slot. A stem is secured to the mounting platform so as to project from the center of the recess and has a T-shaped crosshead dimensioned to pass through the slot when aligned therewith and to engage with the part-spherical inner surface of the hollow projection when aligned transversely to the slot. A lever on the mounting platform engages with a slot in the mirror carrier to prevent relative angular movement between the mirror carrier and the mounting platform about said stem.
