The present invention relates to a tree watering apparatus that can be used to irrigate the base of a tree and to protect the roots thereof. The present invention comprises a semi-circular ring having a bottom half that serves as a root barrier and a top half that serves as a barrier to retain water around a tree while the water percolates to the root system of the tree. A distribution tubing is attached to a water supply and directs water around a tree which is then retained on the ground around the tree by the top half of the present invention while it percolates into the ground. Water that percolates into the ground is then directed to the root system of the tree by the bottom half of the present invention that is buried.

Tree watering apparatus

Niche assembly for a pool and method therefor

A submersible light having an electrically nonconductive reflector and no other electrically conductive elements requiring grounding, a tough lens to withstand impacts from swimmers and features providing quick and easy serviceability. Because of these features, the light of the invention meets safety requirements allowing the light to be mounted less that 18 inches below the waterline, thereby allowing its placement in areas of pools that have been heretofore off limits to conventional lights. In addition, a cord holder about the external surface of the light's housing and twist lock base and housing with a radial O-ring seal provide for quick and easy disassembly and re-installation of the light.

Submersible light fixture

The fiber optic cable assembly mounts to a perimeter surface of a swimming pool or a spa to provide lighting around the perimeter of the swimming pool or spa. The fiber optic cable assembly includes a bundle of fiber optic fibers, a tube, a track, and a plurality of fasteners. The front surface of the track and the rear surface of the tube cooperatively define a chamber between the track and the tube to eliminate interference between the fasteners and the tube such that the tube is uniformly received in the track. Another embodiment of the invention provides a track with a rear surface that defines a reservoir. The reservoir advantageously collects excess adhesive used in the mounting process of the track to prevent unsightly and difficult to remove excess adhesive from building up around the track.

Fiber optic cable assembly for perimeter lighting

A suction fitting for use in a water circulation system, the fitting having a perforated body that is mounted to permit fluid flow through both front and rear perforated faces, and thereby minimize the possibility of complete blockage of the fitting by entrapped hair or skin. Operation of a circulating pump is controlled to prevent damage to equipment and property and also to minimize the possibility of serious personal injury or death. The suction fitting further includes a suction tube for connection to the pump, for circulating water in the tub or spa back through jets in the tub or spa, and a pressure sensor line connecting the water in the tub or spa to a water level sensor. The front face of the perforated body has a number of grooves, to provide fluid communication between the pressure sensor line and the suction tube, through one or more front-face perforations. When flow into the suction fitting is blocked, a reduced pressure is sensed immediately behind the front face of the perforated body, through the pressure sensor line and the grooves in the front face, and the pump is disabled to prevent damage or physical injury.

Suction fitting with pump control device

A suction fitting for use in a water circulation system in which operation of a circulating pump is controlled to prevent damage to equipment and property and also to minimize the possibility of serious personal injury or death. The suction fitting includes a suction line connected to the pump, for circulating water in the tub or spa back through jets in the tub or spa, a pressure sensor line connecting the water in the tub or spa to a water level sensor, and one or more slots for water communication between the pressure sensor line and the suction line. When flow into the suction fitting is blocked, water is drawn out of the pressure sensor line and through the slots to the suction line, to permit detection of the blockage in the level sensor. The combination of the suction fitting, the pump and the water level sensor turn off the pump when the suction fitting is blocked or when the water level in the tub or spa is too high or too low.

A hydrotherapy jet assembly that produces rotating and pulsating streams of water and provides for user adjustable flow control, and user adjustable control of the speed of rotation independently of the flow control. The assembly includes a nozzle rotor supported for rotation in a generally cylindrical body, and a rotor retainer cage having a thrust plate that applies an axial retaining force to the rotor. The rotor has two internal passages that discharge water in directions that may be selected to produce a turning moment applied to the rotor. Fins may be incorporated into the rotor to produce or contribute to rotation. In all of the disclosed forms of the rotor, radial thrust components resulting from discharge of water through the two rotor passages cancel each other. The rotor is thereby balanced in directions transverse to its axis or rotation. Axial thrust components resulting from the discharge of water from the nozzle rotor are substantially balanced by the force of water entering the rotor. A brake washer is installed adjacent to the nozzle rotor and a compression spring applies a controllable braking force to the rotor to control its speed.
