A system can receive location information from computing devices of drivers to determine current positions of each of the drivers as the drivers operate throughout a geographic region. The system can transmit data to a computing device of a user, causing the computing device to generate a map interface including (i) a map indicating a current location of the computing device of the user on the map, (ii) an estimated time of arrival for a particular vehicle to rendezvous with the user, and (iii) a user interface feature operable by the user to request transport. Based on the user configuring the user interface feature displayed on the map interface, the system receives a transport request specifying a pickup location and selects a driver to fulfill the transport request.

System and method for facilitating a transport service for drivers and users of a geographic region

A system and method are described for enabling transportation to be arranged for individuals carrying handsets or mobile devices. In some embodiments, a customer can transmit a request for transport from a given customer geographic location. A service may handle the request by selecting a driver for the customer.

Recommended content is referred to by a URL. Users can rate content to the server system using a single-action. The server system performs recommendation calculations using user-specific information such as user preferences, demographic data, content rating history, and content-specific information. The content rating history of other users may also influence these calculations. Client systems display recommended content directly to the user in response to only a single-action.
