A method for leveraging a universal credential in an access control system according to one embodiment includes generating, by a cloud system, a CBOR web token for user access to at least one electronic lock, wherein the CBOR web token includes a group tag associated with a set of access rights for a group of users and a cryptographic signature, transmitting the CBOR web token to a user mobile device, receiving, by a first electronic lock, the CBOR web token from the user mobile device for access to a passageway secured by the first electronic lock, verifying an authenticity of the cryptographic signature of the CBOR web token and that the group tag of the CBOR web token is associated with a group authorized to access the passageway secured by the first electronic lock, and unlocking a lock mechanism in response to the verifications.

Universal credential

Systems, methods, and storage media for communicating with connected devices are disclosed. Exemplary implementations may: identify one or more traits for a connected device; receive an action request, wherein the action request corresponds to a first desired state of the connected device; receive a trait configuration for the one or more traits; calculate a second desired state for the connected device, wherein the second desired state is calculated based on one or more of the action request and trait configuration for the connected device; and at least one of transmit a first message to the connected device, including an indication of the first or the second desired state, or transmit a second message, including an indication of an estimated state, to the first computing device.

Behavior driven digital twin for Internet of Things devices

A virtual gateway software application may comprise a graphical user interface, and be configured to receive immediate command instructions for local connected devices from each of: a user, via the graphical user interface and a remote server on the Internet; via a wireless LAN or a short-range communication protocol. A method and system for communicating to connected devices in a local environment are disclosed. The method may comprise receiving, at a head-end controller service, a command intent, the command intent indicating that a control signal should be send to a connected device. Then, the method may include sending the control signal to a virtual-gateway-enabled personal communication device that is within a local communication protocol transmission distance of the connected device. The method may further comprise relaying the control signal from the virtual-gateway-enabled personal communication device to the connected device.
