A battery pack includes: battery cells, each including first and second end portions that are opposite each other in a length direction; a case having an accommodation space in which the battery cells and a fluid to cool the battery cells are configured to be accommodated, the case including first and second covers respectively covering the first and second end portions; first and second tab plates respectively on the first and second covers and connected to the first and second end portions; a circuit board on the first tab plate; and a first lead and a second lead through which the first and second tab plates are connected to the circuit board, the first and second leads connected to a first side portion of the circuit board. An arrangement of the leads connected to electrodes of the battery cells is improved, and heat is efficiently dissipated from a switch device.

Battery pack

In a method of controlling a battery system having a battery module comprising a plurality of battery sub modules connected in parallel between system terminals, the method includes: measuring voltage values of the plurality of battery sub modules and/or cells in the plurality of battery sub modules and current values that flow on the battery module; detecting an occurrence of an internal short in the battery module by monitoring the voltage values or the current values; and electrically separating at least one battery sub module in which the internal short occurs from among the plurality of battery sub modules from the system terminals in response to the internal short occurring in the battery module.

Battery system including battery modules connected between system terminals and control method thereof

A battery pack includes at least two battery cells; a circuit board to control charging and discharging operations of the battery cells; and a connection tab electrically connected to the battery cells, extending towards the circuit board, and including a bent portion proximal to the battery cells and located within a battery area defined by the battery cells. A battery pack suitable for a compact type device is provided and a low-resistive design may be applied to the battery pack.
