Systems and methods are provided to determine an estimated location of a user equipment (UE). For instance, a UE can provide a positioning request to a node while the UE is in a radio resource control idle (RRC_IDLE) or inactive (RRC_INACTIVE) state. The positioning request can be implemented in a random access channel (RACH) message A (MsgA). The UE can then receive a positioning response from the node. The positioning response can be implemented in a RACH message B (MsgB).

Systems and methods of providing new radio positioning

Briefly, in accordance with one or more embodiments, apparatus of an evolved NodeB (eNB) comprises circuitry to configure one or more parameters for a 5G master information block (xMIB). The xMIB contains at least one of the following parameters: downlink system bandwidth, system frame number (SFN), or configuration for other physical channels, or a combination thereof. The apparatus of the eNB comprises circuitry to transmit the xMIB via a 5G physical broadcast channel (xPBCH) on a predefined resource, the xPBCH comprising a xPBCH. The xPBCH may use a DM-RS based transmission mode, and a beamformed xPBCH may be used for mid band and high band.

In an embodiment, a UE, including circuitry operable to: report a UE capability of the UE to a base station, wherein the UE capability comprises a number of phase tracking reference signal (PT-RS) antenna ports (N) supported by the UE; decode control signaling received from the base station, wherein the control signaling comprises at least one parameter to indicate a precoder selected from a codebook based on at least the N; and perform physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission according to the indicated precoder; wherein the codebook is predefined or configured based on different numbers of PT-RS antenna ports and different waveforms, in the UE and the base station.

The disclosure describes mechanisms for reliability enhancement on control channel and data channel and mechanisms in URLLC. An apparatus of a RAN node for URLLC includes baseband circuitry to configure at least one DCI for scheduling transmission of at least one PDSCH content having same information. For each DCI, the baseband circuitry determines a CORESET for transmitting the DCI. The disclosure further describes mechanisms for the support of low latency transmission in URLLC. To improve peak data rate and spectrum efficiency in FDD system, the RAN node configures a DCI for scheduling data transmission using blank resources of a self-contained slot structure. Further, CBG-based transmission with separate HARQ-ACK feedback is provided to configure a DCI for scheduling data transmission of a TB and to divide the TB into multiple CBGs, and to configure uplink control data to carry separate HARQ feedback for the CBGs.

Resource allocation is provided for an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network, such as a distributed unit (DU) of an IAB. Methods and systems for allocating resources include allocating a first cell-specific pattern of downlink-flexible-uplink (DL-F-UL) availability for one or more slots, allocating a second cell-specific pattern of DL-F-UL availability for the one or more slots. The IAB DU can signal one or more of the first and second cell-specific patterns to an other IAB DU. At least one of the first cell-specific pattern and the second cell-specific pattern defines a slot format different from a DL-F-UL format. Slot format configuration (e.g., semi-static or dynamic SFI) are provided to support space division multiplexing/spatial multiplexing (SDM).

This disclosure describes improving a 4-step RACH procedure by using a 2-step RACH procedure. A UE transmits a PRACH preamble and associated MsgA physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) on a configured time and frequency resource. After successful detection of the PRACH preamble, and decoding of the MsgA PUSCH, the gNB transmits MsgB in the second step. Generally, a mapping is used between the PRACH preamble and the PUSCH resource unit for 2-step RACH. This disclosure describes the mapping for 2-step RACH.

Disclosed are systems, methods, and one or more computer-readable media (CRM) storing instructions for the triggering of a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) by user equipment (UE) in a wireless cellular network. The UE measures a downlink reference signal. The UE also determines a condition for triggering a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) is satisfied based on the downlink reference signal. Then, the UE transmits a request for a base station of the wireless cellular network to provide the CSI-RS to the UE based on the condition being satisfied.

A user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry configured to decode downlink control information (DCI) from a base station, the DCI including a modulation coding scheme (MCS) index and physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) allocation. A phase tracking reference signal (PT-RS) time domain density is determined based on the MCS index and a number count of the DM-RS symbols for the DM-RS transmission. Techniques are provided for selecting a spatial relation for a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission by a user equipment (UE) operating in a multi-transmission reception point (TRP) multi-antenna panel environment. For example, the UE prepares a PUSCH transmission intended for a first TRP of a plurality of TRPs available to the UE in the wireless network, and determines a first antenna port group of a plurality of antenna port groups of the UE that is more directionally aligned with the first TRP than other antenna port groups of the plurality of antenna port groups. The UE further transmits the PUSCH transmission to the first TRP via the first antenna port group using a default spatial relation used for a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) communication with the first TRP via the first antenna port group.

An access point (AP) operating in the unlicensed spectrum includes a processor circuitry, a transmitter, and a receiver. The processor circuitry is configured to perform a listen before talk (LBT) procedure using an LBT parameter and a maximum channel occupancy time (MCOT) that is compatible with another wireless protocol using the unlicensed spectrum. The processor circuitry is configured to divide a transport block (TB) into a plurality of code block groups (CBGs) for transmission over the unlicensed spectrum. The transmitter is configured to transmit the plurality of CBGs to a destination, and a receiver is configured to receive hybrid automatic repeat and request acknowledgment (HARQ-ACK) information corresponding to the transmitted plurality of CBGs. The processor circuitry is further configured to determine a HARQ-ACK assessment for the TB based on the HARQ-ACK information corresponding to the transmitted plurality of CBGs, and adjust a contention window size based on the HARQ-ACK assessment for the TB.

For single carrier based waveform, Discrete Fourier Transform-spread-OFDM (DFT-s-OFDM) and single carrier with a frequency domain equalizer (SC-FDE) can be considered for both DL and UL. For OFDM based transmission scheme including DFT-s-OFDM, a cyclic prefix (CP) is inserted at the beginning of each block, where the last data symbols in a block is repeated as the CP. Typically, the length of CP exceeds the maximum expected delay spread in order to overcome the inter-symbol interference (ISI). For SC-FDE transmission scheme, a known sequence (guard interval (GI), unique word (UW), etc.) can be inserted at both the beginning and end of one block. Further, a linear equalizer in the frequency domain can be employed to reduce the receiver complexity. Compared to OFDM, SC-FDE transmission scheme can reduce Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) and thus allow the use of less costly power amplifier.
