Disclosed is a clamping member and a battery module using the same. The clamping member includes a pair of pressing units configured to respectively press an upper plate and a lower plate of a battery assembly in which a plurality of batteries is stacked, so that a stacking structure of the battery assembly is fixed, and a support unit configured to support the pair of pressing units so that the upper plate and the lower plate of the battery assembly are pressed by the pair of pressing units, wherein at least one of the pair of pressing units includes a snap-fitting portion coupled to the upper plate or the lower plate by means of snap-fitting, and a screwing portion coupled to the upper plate or the lower plate coupled to the snap-fitting portion, by means of screwing, thereby fixing the battery stacking structure with excellent space efficiency, ensuring easy assembling of the battery module and improving durability of the battery module.

The heat sink for cooling a cell assembly including at least one unit cell comprises a first heat sink coupled to one side of the cell assembly and having a first cooling channel through which a coolant passes, and a second heat sink coupled to the other side of the cell assembly and having a second cooling channel through which the coolant passes. Since heat sinks are coupled to both sides of a cell assembly, a Z-axial space of a battery pack may be ensured without increasing the height of the battery pack.

Heat sink and battery module including the same

Provided is a battery module having improved sealing properties of a cooling duct. The battery module includes a battery stack, in which an inlet of an air flow path is opened at one side and an outlet of the air flow path is opened at another side, and a plurality of cooling ducts combined to two side portions of the battery stack to respectively communicate with the inlet of the air flow path and the outlet of the air flow path. At least one of the plurality of cooling ducts includes a plug accommodating part defining a through hole, and a harness accommodating plug air-tightly inserted into the through hole and having a plurality of wire accommodating holes. The harness accommodating plug passes a wire of the internal harness or a wire of the external harness through the wire accommodating hole. The internal harness and the external harness are electrically combined around the harness accommodating plug.

A cartridge for secondary batteries, according to the present disclosure, includes a main frame including at least four unit frames connected to each other at ends thereof to provide a cavity inside the four unit frames, wherein at least some of the unit frames have openings penetrating therethrough in a horizontal direction and two or more main frames are configured to be vertically stackable on one another, an upper cooling plate having a plate shape, including an upper bonding portion serving as edges and boned to the main frame, and arranged to cover the cavity, and a lower cooling plate having a plate shape, including a lower bonding portion serving as edges and boned to the main frame, and spaced apart from the upper cooling plate by a predetermined distance to face the upper cooling plate and generating a cooling channel between the upper and lower cooling plates.

Cartridge for secondary batteries, and battery module including the cartridge

Provided is a battery module suitable for cooling battery cells between battery cartridges within a short period of time by including cooling ducts at side portions of the battery cartridges to restrict inflow of air from the cooling ducts to air paths of the battery cartridges. The battery module includes: a battery stack including battery cartridges having air induction holes protruding from grooves at side surfaces of the battery cartridges and air paths communicating with the air induction holes, at least one battery cell alternately stacked with the battery cartridges; a sealing member including an outer sealing frame and sealing ribs located in the grooves of the battery stack, and middle sealing frames located between the air induction holes; and a cooling duct including a groove portion covering the grooves and accommodating the outer sealing frame.

Disclosed is a battery module which has a simple structure, small volume and weight, and efficient cooling performance. The battery module includes a plurality of secondary batteries, each including an electrode assembly and a pouch exterior configured to accommodate the electrode assembly in an inner space thereof and having a sealing portion provided thereto, the plurality of secondary batteries being arranged in a vertical direction in a state of being laid in a horizontal direction; and a plurality of cartridges configured to be stacked in a vertical direction, each cartridge being coupled in contact with a sealing portion of the secondary battery to surround the sealing portion and being made of thermally-conductive material.

Disclosed is a battery module which may have a simple structure, be advantageous in making a small and light design, have excellent assembly and be strong against impact or vibration, by removing or decreasing coupling components for coupling cartridges. The battery module includes a plurality of pouch-type secondary batteries arranged in a lateral direction to stand in a vertical direction, a plurality of cartridges configured to accommodate the pouch-type secondary batteries in an inner space thereof, the cartridges being stacked in a lateral direction, and a housing provided to at least one of front and rear ends of the cartridges and coupled and fixed to at least two cartridges.

Disclosed is a battery module which ensures efficient cooling performance and advantageously has a structurally firm and small design, and a battery pack and a vehicle including the battery module. The battery module includes a plurality of pouch-type secondary batteries standing in a vertical direction and arranged in a right and left direction; a plurality of cartridges configured to accommodate the pouch-type secondary batteries in an inner space thereof and stacked in a right and left direction; and a cooling plate made of a thermally-conductive material and disposed at a lower portion of the cartridges so that the cartridges are placed thereon, the cooling plate having an upper surface which is at least partially adhered and fixed to the cartridges by means of an adhesive.

The present disclosure discloses a battery pack suitable for improving cooling efficiency of a cooling duct for battery cells in a battery module by reducing a sealing area between a lower case and an upper case configured to fully surround the battery module. The battery pack according to the present disclosure includes a battery module including battery cells sequentially stacked and a cooling duct located on side of the battery cells; a lower case configured to load the battery module and the cooling duct therein; and an upper case coupled to the lower case so as to cover the battery module and the cooling duct, the upper case having a vent structure on the cooling duct. The vent structure has, on the cooling duct, an inner air passage unit opened at a sidewall of the upper case, and an outer air passage unit inserted into the inner air passage unit.

Battery pack

The present disclosure relates to a battery pack having improved assemblability, processability, and durability, and configured to stably maintain a stack of cartridges. According to an aspect of the present disclosure, the battery pack includes: vertically arranged secondary cells each including an electrode assembly, an electrolyte, and a pouch-type case; vertically stacked cartridges accommodating the secondary cells in inner spaces thereof and including coupling holes; a lower end plate including a plate-shaped metallic material and placed on a lower portion of a stack of the secondary cells and the cartridges; a first fastening member fixed to the lower end plate; and a second fastening member having an elongated shape so as to stand on the lower end plate in a direction perpendicular to the lower end plate, a lower end portion of the second fastening member coupled to the first fastening member, the second fastening member being inserted through coupling holes of the cartridges.

Disclosed are an electrode lead connecting structure capable of simplifying an assembly process of busbars by integrating sensing and electrode busbars, and of minimizing worker's mistakes during the assembly process by almost horizontally arranging busbars on a printed circuit board for each level, a battery module including the electrode lead connecting structure, and a battery pack including the battery module. An electrode lead connecting structure according to the present disclosure includes a printed circuit board, first and second electrode-integrated sensing busbars provided at a lowest level of one side edge of the printed circuit board and at a highest level of an opposite side edge of the printed circuit board, respectively, a first sensing busbar group located on the first L-shaped end strip busbar at the one side edge, and a second sensing busbar group located under the second L-shaped end strip busbar at the opposite side edge.

The battery pack includes: a cell assembly including a plurality of secondary cells and a plurality of cartridges, the cartridges being configured to be stacked on one another and to accommodate the secondary cells while surrounding outer circumferential portions of the secondary cells from outsides of the secondary cells; a lower housing having an empty inner space to accommodate the cell assembly in the inner space, the lower housing being opened on an upper side thereof; a lower end plate including a plate-shaped metallic material and placed in surface contact with a lower surface of the lower housing; and a lower cover placed on a lower portion of the lower end plate to cover the lower end plate, the lower cover being fixedly coupled to the lower housing.

Disclosed is a battery pack which has a simple structure, small volume and weight, and efficient cooling performance. The battery pack includes a module assembly including a plurality of secondary batteries, and a plurality of cartridges configured to be stacked with each other and surround an outer circumference of the secondary batteries at an outer side, the plurality of cartridges being at least partially made of thermally-conductive material; and a pack case having an empty space therein to accommodate the module assembly and at least partially made of thermally-conductive material to discharge heat of the module assembly.
