The present disclosure generally discloses a three-dimensional (3D) image reconstruction capability. The 3D image reconstruction capability may be configured to support reconstruction of a 3D image of a scene. The 3D image reconstruction capability may be configured to support reconstruction of a 3D image of a scene based on lensless compressive image acquisition performed using a lensless compressive camera having a single aperture and a set of multiple sensors. The reconstructed 3D image of a scene may include (1) image data indicative of a set of multiple two-dimensional (2D) images reconstructed based on the set of multiple sensors of the lensless compressive camera (which may be represented as images) and (2) depth information indicative of depths at points or areas of an overlapping portion of the multiple images reconstructed based on the set of multiple sensors of the lensless compressive camera (which may be represented as a depth map).

3D image reconstruction based on lensless compressive image acquisition

A plurality of lighting elements is configured to selectively illuminate a scene during a plurality of time intervals. The plurality of lighting elements forms a different illumination pattern in each of the plurality of time intervals. One or more sensors are configured to measure a plurality of intensities of light received from the scene during the plurality of time intervals. A processor is configured to generate an image of the scene based on the plurality of intensities. In some cases, the plurality of lighting elements are switched on or off to produce different illumination patterns during a plurality of time intervals that too short to be perceptible to the human eye.

Compressive imaging using structured illumination

Systems and methods are provided for constructing a multi-resolution image from a set of compressive measurements representing a compressed version of a single native resolution image. In one aspect, compressive sense measurements are retrieved that were generated using a compressive sensing matrix and represent a compressed version of a single native resolution image of a scene. Dimensions of a desired two-dimensional, multi-resolution image are determined, and a plurality of regions is allocated, each allocated region having a respective resolution. An expansion matrix is defined to map the resolution of each allocated region to the native resolution, and a multi-resolution image of the scene is constructed using the compressive sense measurements, the compressive sensing matrix, and the defined expansion matrices. In various aspects, a full resolution or other multi-resolution images may be constructed from the same compressive measurements without regenerating new compressive measurements.

Multi-resolution compressive sensing image processing

Systems and methods for compressive sense imaging are provided. In one aspect, a system and method is provided for determining at least one kernel matrix based on the relative motion of an object during a time period corresponding to the acquisition of one or more compressive measurements of the object. An uncompressed image of the object is generated using the compressive measurements using a reconstruction basis matrix that is different from the compressive basis matrix used to acquire the compressive measurements of the object. To compensate for the relative motion of the object, the reconstruction basis matrix is determined based on the at least one kernel matrix and the compressive basis matrix.

Systems and methods for compressive sense imaging

Resolution and focus enhancement

The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for generating compressive measurements of video using spatial-temporal integration. The apparatus includes a detector configured to detect luminance values of a temporal video structure over a period of time based on optical data. The temporal video structure has pixels with a horizontal dimension and a vertical dimension with corresponding luminance values over the period of time. The apparatus also includes a spatial-temporal integrator unit configured to receive a plurality of measurement bases. Also, the spatial-temporal integrator unit is configured to apply each measurement basis to the temporal video structure and to sum resulting values for each measurement basis over the period of time to obtain a set of measurements. The summed values for each measurement basis is the set of measurements.
