An electrical connector includes: an insulative housing having a base and a tongue; and plural contacts arranged in an upper and lower rows and exposed respectively to an upper and lower surfaces of the tongue, wherein the upper and lower rows of contacts include a first and second power contacts in the same row, the second power contact being shorter than the first power contact so as to be prevented from making an electrical contact with an ordinary connector.

An electrical connector assembly includes an electrical connector and an outer frame receiving the electrical connector. The electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a number of conductive terminals affixed to the insulative housing, and a shielding shell enclosing the insulative housing. The insulative housing includes a base portion and a tongue portion. There exists an annular groove between an outer surface of the shielding shell and an inner wall of the outer frame. The outer frame includes a number of dispensing holes penetrating the inner wall and an outer wall thereof and communicating with the annular groove. An o-ring is injected into the annular groove through the dispensing holes by the insulative materials sealing a gap between the shielding shell and the outer frame. Since the o-ring is formed after assembling the electrical connector to the outer frame, the gap is better sealed.

Electrical connector having an improved O-ring and method of making the same

An electronic card connector, defining an insertion direction, an ejection direction, and a transverse direction perpendicular to the insertion direction, includes an insulative housing and a number of terminals retained in the insulative housing. The terminals include a row of first contacts disposed along the insertion direction. Each first contact has a first affixed portion and a first contacting portion located at a peak therein. Each of the first contacts extends along the transverse direction. The first contacting portions of the neighboring first contacts are located offset along the insertion direction. The first contacting portions and associated first affixed portions of the first contacts are distanced differently in the transverse direction.

Electronic card connector assembly having improved terminals to avoid scuffing

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a number of conductive terminals affixed to the insulative housing, a shielding shell enclosing the insulative housing; and a sealer. The insulative housing includes a base portion and a tongue portion extending forwardly from the base portion. Each conductive terminal includes a contacting portion exposed to the tongue portion. The shielding shell includes a number of locking grooves penetrating rearward and a number of tubers and each sandwiched between two locking grooves. The sealer seals a rear end of the shielding shell. The sealer includes a number of tubers corresponded with the locking grooves of the shielding shell and a number of locking grooves receiving the tubers of the shielding shell.

An electronic card connector, cooperated with a plug-in component and defining an insertion direction and a transverse direction perpendicular to the insertion direction, includes an insulative housing, a number of contacts retained in the insulative housing, a metal shell attached to the insulative housing and forming a cavity therebetween, and an ejector movable in the insulative housing. The metal shell has a number of lateral walls located at two sides and a front end thereof. One of the lateral walls has a resisting portion protruding to the cavity and resists the resisting portion to confine a movement thereof in a horizontal plane.

A card connector includes an insulative housing defining a front-and-rear direction, a number of contacts accommodated in the insulative housing, a metallic shell enclosing the insulative housing to form a receiving space and an ejector having a shaft received in the right of the receiving space and an actuator driven by the ejector. The metallic shell has a receiving slot receiving the shaft, and an upper wall and a lower wall around the receiving slot. The upper wall and the lower wall restrict the shaft in an up-and-down direction perpendicular to the front-and-rear direction.

An electrical card connector assembly includes an electrical card connector and a printed circuit board. The electrical card connector includes: a first contact module and a second contact module assembled to the printed circuit board along a transverse direction perpendicular to a card-inserting direction; a shielding shell enclosing the contact modules to form a receiving room; a tray movably received in the receiving room along the insertion direction and having a first receiving groove receiving a first card corresponding to the first contact module and a second receiving groove receiving a second card corresponding to the second contact module; an ejector comprising a lever located at a lateral side of the first contact module and a cam located at a rear of the first contact module; and a detecting terminal positioned at a rear of the second contact module beside the cam along the transverse direction.
