Disclosed is an electrochemical biosensor having a sample introduction channel in which an insulator is employed to introduce a small amount of a sample uniformly and accurately and to adjust an area of a working electrode, thereby guaranteeing the accurate quantitative analysis of a sample. Provided with a sample collection barrier at a sample entrance, the biosensor allows a sample to be introduced at higher accuracy and to be analyzed with higher reproducibility and reliability.

Electrochemical biosensor with sample introduction channel capable of uniform introduction of small amount of sample

Disclosed is an electrochemical biosensor measuring device which can be used together with an electrochemical biosensor. The biosensor measuring device comprises an electrical connection portion which is electrically connected with the electrodes of the biosensor upon the insertion of the biosensor there into, and a connector having a structure in which at least one light absorption or reflection path sequentially comprising a light emitter-production lot information identification portion-detector unit is provided to identify the production lot information recorded in the biosensor. The electrochemical biosensor measuring device can automatically identify the production lot information of the biosensor, encoded in the form of a hue or hole marks, upon the insertion of the electrochemical biosensor into the measuring device, thereby obviating the need to manually input the production lot information of the biosensor. Thus, inconvenience and the frequency of errors, which occur when a user personally inputs the production lot information, can be reduced, with the result that the measured values can be conveniently and accurately acquired.

Electrochemical biosensor measuring system

Disclosed relates to an electrochemical determination system of glycated proteins, the system comprising: a filtering means for filtering labeled compounds bound to glycated proteins and non-glycated proteins after adding labeling compounds, capable of selectively binding to the glycated proteins to a solution, in which glycated/non-glycated proteins coexist, to be bound all to the glycated proteins; and a quantifying means for quantifying the filtered labeling compounds, not bound to the glycated proteins. The system of the present invention filters the residual labeled compounds left after binding to glycated proteins to quantify, instead of directly quantifying glycated proteins via the known glycated protein determination methods, thus simplifying the configuration of the system that can provide exact determinations with a low cost. Moreover, the electrochemical determination system of glycated proteins of the present invention minimizes the interference that the proteins are absorbed to an analysis device and a sensor in the system, not using immune antibodies that are expensive and have limited lives and, furthermore, not modifying the electrodes of the electrode sensor with antibodies or enzymes, thus facilitating mass production, quality control and circulation of the products.

Electrochemical determination system of glycated proteins

Disclosed are an electrochemical biosensor which comprises a production lot information identification portion, on which information is recorded in a magnetization mark, and a measuring device which can automatically identify the production lot information of the biosensor with the insertion of the electrochemical biosensor into the measuring device. The electrochemical biosensor and the measuring device thereof can record production lot information in the form of magnetization marks on an electrochemical biosensor strip and read the information as digital signals through a magnetoresistance sensor device, which can be mounted on the surface of a circuit board using Surface Mounted Technology (SMT). Without the need for a high-priced filter or a complicated calculation system, the magnetic detector system has a simple construction and realizes economic efficiency in the construction of the measuring device. Also, the measuring device automatically identifies the production lot information recorded on the biosensor, so that inconvenience and the frequency of errors, which occur when a user personally inputs the production lot information, can be reduced, with the result that the measured values can be conveniently and accurately acquired.

Disclosed herein is an electrochemical biosensor measuring device which comprises at least two photodiodes for emitting light beams at regular time intervals in a sequential manner, with the insertion of an electrochemical biosensor thereto, and a detector for sensing the emitted light beams, thereby identifying the production lot information recorded on a production lot information identification portion on the electrochemical biosensor. Thus, the device enjoys economic advantages of not requiring a high-priced optical filter in detecting the light absorbed through or reflected from the production identification information recorded in biosensor and a complicated software algorithm to recover the production lot information. Also, the measuring device automatically identifies the production lot information recorded on the biosensor, so that the frequency of inconvenience and error that occur when a user personally inputs the production lot information of the biosensor can be reduced, with the result that the measured values can be conveniently and accurately acquired.

A biosensor can be measured by a method that includes: determining malfunction of a production lot information sensing unit; alerting malfunction when the production lot information sensing unit malfunctions; encoding the production lot information through the production lot information sensing unit when the production lot information sensing unit does not malfunction; and detecting a component of a sample through a biosensor strip by using the encoded production lot information.

Biosensor measuring apparatus and a method thereof

Disclosed herein is a dual blood glucose meter. The dual blood glucose meter includes a meter body, a measurement strip, a variety of electronic parts and upper and lower strip receiving ports. The meter body is provided with a liquid crystal display panel on the front thereof to display measured numerical values and various pieces of pictorial information. The measurement strip is brought into contact with blood at a blood collection spot so as to measure blood glucose of the blood. The electronic parts are used to measure the blood glucose of the blood. The upper and lower strip receiving ports are formed at upper and lower ends of the meter body to receive the measurement strip, and are each electrically connected to the electric parts.

Dual blood glucose meter

An electrochemical biosensor and a biosensor measuring device. The electrochemical biosensor includes a plurality of electrodes, capillary sample cell portions, reaction reagent layers, electrode connection portions, and a production lot information identification portion. An actuating lever () includes an actuating switch () seated on the lever hole and having first and second actuating steps, a switch cap (), and a switch cover (). Vacuum assisted auto-lancing device

A biosensor, for use in measurement of an analyte, includes a microporous membrane support, a first electrode system, a second electrode system, and a pair of insulating films. The first electrode system is formed on the surface of the microporous membrane support and the second electrode system is formed on the opposite surface of the microporous membrane support. The biosensor enables a rapid, simple, separation-free, and selective detection of the analytes. The biosensor does not require any bulky additional electrode, so that miniaturization, point-of-car testing, and disposability can be achieved.

There is provided the reagent layer composition that can substantially reduce the measurement bias arising from hematocrits. The addition of fatty acid (4-20 carbons) and quaternary ammonium salt to a commonly used reagent layer composition composed of an enzyme, an electron transfer mediator, and several water soluble polymers not only reduce the hematocrit level-dependent bias but also provide very stable performance for an extended period of time. Disclosed are also various types of sub microliter sample volume electrochemical biosensors that are suitable to use with the reagent layer composition of present invention.

There is provided electrochemical biosensors with a sample introducing part, comprising a sample introducing passage, an air discharge passage, and a void. The sample introducing passage communicates with the air discharge passage, and the void is formed at the point of communication. Method and apparatus for non-invasive monitoring of blood substances using self-sampled tears

The present invention disclose a method for fabricating planar reference electrodes. Particularly, the present invention relates to the planar reference electrode comprising plate (); electrode connection (); electrode (); insulating membrane (); inner reference solution (); junction (or); and protecting membrane (or), and processes for fabrication thereof, in which the junction is composed of porous material such as cotton thread, glass fiber, cellulose nitrate, cellulose acetate, filter paper and any material that can produce capillary action; porous polymer membrane; or a capillary either directly printed on the substrate or inserted with a thin film. The planar reference electrode of the present invention exhibit stable electric potential and short activation period, and may be used in both potentiometry and voltammetry. The planar reference electrodes of the present invention can be easily miniaturized and mass produced.

Disclosed is a porous membrane built-in biosensor comprising (a) at least one substrate; (b) an electrode layer patterned on the substrate, consisting of an electrode system and a circuit connector; (c) an insulator, formed on parts of the electrode layer, for electrically separating the electrode system from a circuit connector; and (d) a porous membrane via the insulator on the electrode system, wherein, when a whole blood sample is introduced to the biosensor, the whole blood sample is separated into its components during the chromatographic motion through the porous membrane so that only blood plasma can be contacted with the electrode system. The porous membrane built-in biosensor is provided with a sample inlet, which allows samples to be introduced in a constant quantity to the biosensors porous membranes without pretreatment.
