The present disclosure relates to an algal cultivation system comprising an algal pond. The algal pond comprises a growth chamber containing algal culture which is exposed to light to enable rapid growth of algae therein, and a regeneration chamber which is substantially devoid of light and configured to provide a residence time to algal culture for repair of damaged proteins of algal cells. The present disclosure also relates to a process for biomass production, comprising circulating algal culture using convection current or forced convection, between the growth chamber and the regeneration chamber. The system and process facilitate in increasing biomass and mitigating salinity and/or temperature variations in the algal culture (A).

An apparatus () for mixing multiphase flowing particles. The apparatus () comprises a conduit () adapted to channelize the multiphase flowing particles. At least one flow diverter () is positioned in the conduit (), which is adapted to divert the flow of multiphase flowing particles into a plurality of flow streams. Further, at least one flow element () is disposed in the conduit () along at least one of the plurality of flow streams, which is configured to inject fluid onto the plurality of flow streams at a velocity greater than the velocity of the plurality of flow streams. This induces a swirling flow of at least one of the plurality of flow streams, thereby facilitating mixing of the multiphase flowing particles in the conduit ().

The present disclosure relates to a system for improving fluid circulation in a fluid-body with improved hydrodynamics, minimized dead zones and a system with minimized energy losses, the system comprises at least one dividing-element disposed within the fluid-body, wherein, the dividing-elements divides the fluid-body into at least two segments such that the segments are connected to and in fluid communication with each other, characterized in that, at least one of the dividing-element has at least one asymmetrical structure configured on at least one extremity thereof.
