The present invention relates to an epoxy resin system containing the reaction product of an epoxy resin component and an amine-based curing agent component comprising a first amine component and a second amine component, and a method for producing the epoxy resin system comprising combining an epoxy resin component with an amine-based curing agent component to form an initial epoxy resin composition, the amine-based curing agent component comprising a first amine component and a second amine component; and allowing a chemical reaction to occur between the amine-based curing agent component and the epoxy resin component to form a cured epoxy resin composition. The first amine component is N-(3-aminopropyl) cyclohexylamine and the second amine component is the hydrogenated product of oligomeric structure from the 4,4'-Methylenedianiline process.

Cycloaliphatic amines for epoxy formulations: a novel curing agent for epoxy systems

The present invention relates to a new structural class of phenalkamines, curing agent compositions comprising the phenalkamines, their use, as well as and methods of producing such phenalkamines and compositions. The phenalkamines of the present invention can be prepared by reacting cardanol with an aldehyde compound and triaminononane. These curing-agent compositions may be used to cure, harden, and/or crosslink an epoxy resin. The curing-agent compositions of this invention are of low viscosity and can be used neat or dissolved in a minimum amount of an organic solvent or diluent to effect cure of epoxy resins.

Phenalkamine epoxy curing agents and epoxy resin compositions containing the same

The present invention relates to an epoxy resin system containing an epoxy resin and a mono-alkylated diamine. The epoxy resin system can further contain a second amine. The present invention also relates to a method for producing an epoxy resin system comprising combining an epoxy resin with a mono-alkylated diamine. The mono-alkylated diamines of this invention enhance desirable processing and cured properties of epoxy resin compositions without the negative impact on mechanical properties in the cured product normally seen with cycloaliphatic amine-based curing agents.

A composition including an amidoamine curing agent composition or a polyamide curing agent composition are disclosed. The composition includes the reaction products of (1) an amine component including at least one multifunctional amine of structure (I): wherein each R is independently H or CHCHCHNH; Ris H, CHCHCHN&#x2014;, C1-C21 alkyl, or C1-C21 alkenyl; n is 2; and m is 1 or 2, with (2) a fatty acid or ester component selected from the group consisting of a dimer fatty acid or ester component, a monofunctional fatty acid or ester component, and combinations thereof. The amidoamine curing agent composition remains as liquid at ambient temperature.

Compositions and curing agents comprising a benzylated Mannich base composition. Benzylated mannich base curing agents, compositions, and methods

Liquid epoxy curing agents that have improved latency over conventional liquid curing agents while retaining the physical properties of the cured material are disclosed.
