A nozzle tip [] for a pulverized solid fuel pipe nozzle [] of a pulverized solid fuel-fired furnace includes: a primary air shroud [] having an inlet [] and an outlet [], wherein the inlet [] receives a fuel flow []; and a flow splitter [] disposed within the primary air shroud [], wherein the flow splitter disperses particles in the fuel flow [] to the outlet [] to provide a fuel flow jet which reduces NOx in the pulverized solid fuel-fired furnace. In alternative embodiments, the flow splitter [] may be wedge shaped and extend partially or entirely across the outlet []. In another alternative embodiment, flow splitter [] may be moved forward toward the inlet [] to create a recessed design.

Low NOx nozzle tip for a pulverized solid fuel furnace

A pulverized solid fuel nozzle assemblyincludes a fuel feed pipeand a nozzle tippivotally secured relative to the fuel feed pipe. The fuel feed pipeincludes a generally cylindrical shellhaving a round outlet endand a bulbous protrusiondisposed around a perimeter of the round outlet end. The nozzle tipincludes an inner shellhaving a round inlet endarranged in concentric relationship with the round outlet endof the generally cylindrical shell. The round inlet endis disposed around the bulbous protrusionfor forming a seal between the inner shelland the fuel feed pipe. The nozzle tipalso includes an outer shellarranged in coaxial relationship with the inner shell, and an annular air channeldisposed between the inner and outer shells. The nozzle tipis pivotable about at least one axisfor directing a stream of pulverized solid fuel from the inner shell
