A gearbox parking brake has a gearing assembly in which two or more interconnected gears can rotate at different directions or speeds. A first and second planetary gear assembly and a central gear are concentrically positioned about a central rotation axis, and the central gear is rotatably engaged with the two planetary gear assemblies. An input is engaged with the central gear in order to operate the planetary gear assemblies, which may function as outputs. A gear engagement block is provided with sets of gear teeth corresponding to the planetary gear assemblies and the central gear. An actuator mechanism is operatively connected to the gear engagement block in order to displace the gear engagement block between a disengaged position and an engaged position. The gear teeth of the gear engagement block are meshed with the gearing assembly in the engaged position, restricting any movement of the gearing assembly.

A vehicleincludes a prime mover engine, a drive wheel, and a hydrostatic transmission. The prime mover enginehas a substantially vertical prime mover output shaft. The hydrostatic transmissionhas a hydraulic pumpwith a substantially vertical pump input shaft. A drive linkdrivingly connects the pump input shaftto the prime mover output shaft. The hydraulic motorhas a substantially vertical output shaft. An interface connectorestablishes fluid pressure communication between the hydraulic pump and the hydraulic motor. A gear set is intermediate the hydrostatic transmissionand drive wheel. The gear set includes a vertically disposed bevel geardrivingly connected to the motor output shaftand a horizontally disposed bevel geardrivingly connected to the drive wheel

Vehicle with hydrostatic transmission

A gear assembly with two inputs and two outputs which can be used on zero turn riding mowers or similar vehicles. The first input is a propelling input and the second input is a steering input. The assembly contains a planet carrier, a first planetary gear assembly, and a second planetary gear assembly. The propelling input is engaged with the planet carrier. The first and second planetary gear assemblies contain a ring gear. The steering input is engaged with the ring gears. The steering input is either a helical bevel gear, straight bevel gear, or a gear train. In another version, the gear assembly can have two planet carriers connected externally to the planetary gear assemblies. In this instance, a central gear is used in between the first planetary gear assembly and the second planetary gear assembly to connect the sun gears.
