Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method of content-layer based compression of a video being broadcasted over a network. The method may include: receiving a video stream comprising a plurality of video stream frames; identifying in at least some of the plurality of video stream frames at least two content-layers of predefined content-layers to yield corresponding at least two content-layer streams, wherein each of the at least two content-layer streams is associated with one of the at least two content-layers; and compressing each of the at least two content-layer video streams according to predetermined parameters of the content-layer associated with the respective content-layer video stream and according to available resources of the network to yield corresponding at least two compressed content-layer streams.

System and method for content-layer based video compression

Generally, a system and method for an automatic detection of referee's decisions during a ball-game match are provided. The method may include receiving a plurality of images of a ball-game field generated during the ball-game match; determining, based on predetermined ball-game rules, a first subset of images of the plurality of images representing a first event that is suspected as a specified rule-based event; determining, based on the predetermine ball-game rules, a second subset of images of the plurality of images that represents a second event, wherein the second event is subsequent to the specified rule-based event according to the predetermined ball-game rules; and analyzing, based on the predetermined ball-game rules, the images of the second subset and further determining, based on the analysis thereof, a referee's decision concerning whether the first even is the specified rule-based event.

System and method for automatic detection of referee's decisions in a ball-game

Methods and systems are provided for automatically producing highlights videos from one or more video streams of a playing field. The video streams are captured from at least one camera, calibrated and raw inputs are obtained from audio, calibrated videos and actual event time. Features are then extracted from the calibrated raw inputs, segments are created, specific events are identified and highlights are determined and the highlights are outputted for consumption, considering diverse types of packages. Types of packages may be based on user preference. The calibrated video streams may be received and processed in real time, periodically.

Method and system for automatically producing video highlights

Generally, a method for fusing viewer-specific graphic content into video content being broadcasted to a plurality of viewer terminals are provided. The method may include the following steps: receiving a video content including a plurality of frames representing a scene; deriving a virtual camera model for a subset of frames of the video content; generating a foreground mask for each frame of the subset of frames of the video content; and substituting, in at least part of the frames of the subset of frames of the video content received on at least some of the plurality of viewer terminals, all pixels in the respective frames contained within a predefined content insertion region of a background surface in the scene, except for the pixels indicated by the respective frames' foreground masks, with pixels of viewer-specific graphic contents associated with the respective viewer terminals, using the respective frames' virtual camera models.

Method and system for fusing user specific content into a video production

It is provided a method for producing a stream of desired image frames derived from a panoramic capturing of a scene by an array of video cameras. The production is conducted by a coordinated operation at a venue proximate to the scene and at a production suite located remotely from the venue. The method includes a venue server recording a stream of raw video images captured simultaneously by the video-cameras, and converting the stream of raw video images at a first data rate to a stream of panoramic views at a second data rate. The second data rate is less than one third of the first data rate. The method further includes transmitting the stream of panoramic views to a remote production suite, and there selecting a stream of desired frames including respective regions of interest. The method further includes transmitting data on the stream of desired frames to the venue server, and the venue server producing out of the recorded stream of raw video images, a stream of high resolution frames. The high resolution frames are characterized by non perceptible boundaries between neighboring images derived from respective neighboring raw video images.

Method and system for low cost television production

It is provided a method for a computerized, server autonomously producing a TV show of a sports game in a scene. The method includes receiving from several video cameras a stream of video images of the scene for capturing a panoramic view of the scene, analyzing the stream of video images for allowing definition of several frame streams, determining location data of the frame streams accordingly, and rendering an active frame stream with images imaging a respective portion of the panoramic view of the scene. The method includes also transmitting for broadcasting a stream of image frames imaging the respective portion of the panoramic view. The step of analyzing the stream of video images includes identifying a playing object, tracking the playing, object and identifying players. The method also includes calibrating the cameras using points in the playing field. The method may include analyzing the stream of video images for identifying an event in the scene for switching between the active frame stream and a different frame stream. Also, the method may include directing a directed sensor to a region of interest in accordance with location data of the active, frame stream.

Method and system for automatic television production

It is provided a method for conveying data on a flying object in a scene. The method including capturing video frames of the scene by video cameras to get video frames which include image of the object, identifying the object in captured video frames to get associated object parameters, calculating motion variables, solving motion equations for anticipated object trajectory taking into account certain effects, and conveying data to displaying devices. The certain effects are an effect of object collision with a ground surface, air friction, wind effect, and interaction of a spinning object with air. The method may be applied to a ball in a sporting playing field. The cameras may have variable operating parameters desirable for the calculating the motion variables, which may be determined by camera calibration using captured artifacts of the scene. Shadow of the object may be captured as well and be used to provide data absent due to occluding a of the object from a video camera. Also, the captured frames of a ball may be used to calculate parameters relating to a bat which hits the ball.

Trajectory detection and analysis in sporting events

It is provided a system for embedment within a sport playing object, a ball for example. The system is associated with continuous determination of a state of the object, its location and pose. The system includes an inertial navigation system (INS) module first state module adapted for measuring parameters associated with the object state, a wireless transmitter, a battery for providing electric power, and a mounting module connecting the object with the first state module, the wireless transmitter and the battery. Independent data relating to the object state is provided by a second state module, a camera system for example. The object state is calculated in accordance with the parameters measured by the first state module and in accordance with the independent provided data. The camera system capturing the object includes at least two mutually displaced camera clusters, and each camera cluster includes one or more cameras for providing a predetermined spatial resolution. The system may include a global positioning system (GPS) module which provides the independent data relating to the object state.

System and method for location tracking

It is provided a method for converting video streams capturing a scene to video streams fitting a viewpoint configuration. The video streams are provided by video cameras, and the method includes receiving parameters associated with the viewpoint configuration, and converting video streams of the scene as captured by the video cameras to video streams fitting the viewpoint configuration. The viewpoint configuration may be a dynamic viewpoint configuration determined by a joystick module. The converting may be done using a three dimensional method, and includes separating objects of the scene from other portions of the scene. The method may includes integrating the scene into the video stream of a certain scene associated with the viewpoint configuration. Sometimes the viewpoint configuration includes a varying zoom and the converting is done using one of several methods, transition between adjacent video cameras having different zoom values, real zooming of a video camera having a motorized zoom, and digital zooming in of video streams. The converting may be done on video streams which have been captured the scene in advance before commencing the converting.
