A power supply device includes a measurement unit that measures at least one of a voltage and a current of a lithium ion battery, a peak detection unit that detects at least one of a maximum value of the current and a minimum value of the voltage at regular time intervals using at least one of the voltage and the current measured by the measurement unit, and a determination unit that determines a failure of the lithium ion battery based on at least one of the maximum value of the current and the minimum value of the voltage detected at regular time intervals by the peak detection unit.

Power supply device and failure detection method for battery

A power supply apparatus includes converters connected in parallel to a three-phase alternating-current power supply, input current detectors that detect current flowing through the respective three phases of the three-phase alternating-current power supply, and load current detectors that detect load current of the converters. Each of the converters includes AC-DC converters inputs of connected to two of the three phases. The AC-DC converters are connected in parallel to each other using a common output. The AC-DC converters that are driven maintain balance of output current. A controller determines whether switching between a driven state and a stopped state of the respective AC-DC converters is performed based on detection results from the load current detectors and switches between the driven state and the stopped state of the respective multiple AC-DC converters based on detection results by the input current detectors.

The average charge voltage on the higher SOC side of the end point of the step of the charge/discharge curve for the power storage pack falls within the range of (12.8&#xd7;n) V to (14.8&#xd7;n) V.

Power storage pack having first and second power storage packs connected in parallel

A power supplying system that includes a power supplying mechanism, an electric load, a power line, and a storage pack. The power supplying mechanism supplies a DC power. The electric load is connected to the power supplying mechanism by the power line. The storage pack is connected to the power line. The charging/discharging curve of the storage pack has a step difference that passes through the rated voltage of the power supplying mechanism. An average discharging voltage on a lower-SOC side of the start point of the step difference is &#x2212;20% or more of the rated voltage. An average charging voltage on a higher-SOC side of the end point of the step difference is +20% or less of the rated voltage.

Power supplying system

A first cell string provided in a first battery module has a larger allowable current value than a plurality of cell strings provided in second and third battery modules. The battery module is provided with a current limiting circuit that limits the charge and discharge currents of the second cell string. When the current value detected by a current sensor is zero, the switch is turned off. In this condition, when the terminal voltage value of the third cell string is different from the terminal voltage value of the second cell string, a second switch switches the connection between the second and third battery modules in order to interpose the current limiting circuit between the second and third cell strings.

Battery pack

In the present invention, a pump driving circuit includes a step-up unit that steps up a first DC voltage from a power supply and outputs it as a second DC voltage, and an H bridge unit that has first and second series circuits that each include two switching elements connected in series between a high potential corresponding to the second DC voltage and a reference potential. According to a control signal from the control unit, the two switching elements of the first series circuit and the two switching elements of the second series circuit are switched on and off. A voltage generated between a first contact point between the two switching elements of the first series circuit, and a second contact point between the two switching elements of the second series circuit is used as a driving voltage for driving a pump.

Blood pressure meter and pump driving system

An analyzing device includes a heating device, a cooling device, and a controller. The cooling device includes a piezoelectric pump, a check valve, an exhaust valve, and an air tank. The analyzing device heats a subject by the heating device. The cooling device drives the piezoelectric pump while the heating device heating the subject. With this, the outside air is sucked through a suction port and the air that is discharged from the piezoelectric pump is accommodated in the air tank through the check valve. Then, the pressure in the air tank is increased. Thereafter, the cooling device stops driving of the piezoelectric pump. With this, the air in the air tank is discharged toward the subject via the exhaust valve so as to cool the subject.

Cooling device and heating and cooling apparatus

A piezoelectric pump includes a piezoelectric element, an intermediate plate, and a vibrating plate. The piezoelectric element has a substantially flat plate shape. The intermediate plate is bonded to a principal surface of the piezoelectric element and applies a residual stress in a compressive direction to the piezoelectric element. The vibrating plate is bonded to the intermediate plate such that the vibrating plate faces a principal surface of the piezoelectric element and receives a residual stress in a compressive direction from the intermediate plate. In addition, the vibrating plate defines a portion of a wall surface of a pump chamber having an open hole. A fluid passage is provided in the piezoelectric pump. The fluid passage communicates with the outside of the chamber at one end thereof, and communicates with the pump chamber through the open hole at the other end.

Vibrating device and piezoelectric pump

A valve includes a valve body, a diaphragm dividing the inside of the valve body into first and second valve chambers and being displaced under a pressure of fluid, first and second openings in communication with the first valve chamber, and a third opening in communication with the second valve chamber. When a pump is not driven, the force applied to a side of the diaphragm facing the second valve chamber is greater than the force applied to a side of the diaphragm facing the first valve chamber, and the second opening is sealed by the diaphragm. When the pump is driven and the force applied to the side of the diaphragm facing the first valve chamber becomes greater than the force applied to the side of the diaphragm facing the second valve chamber, the diaphragm allows the first and second openings and to communicate with each other.

Valve, fluidic apparatus, and fluid-supplying apparatus

A gas control apparatus includes an upper housing to which a second piezoelectric pump is joined, a lower housing to which a first piezoelectric pump is joined, and a diaphragm. The upper housing includes a discharge hole through which gas is discharged. The lower housing includes introduction holes through which gas is introduced, an opening, a first valve seat, a second valve seat, and a third valve seat. The diaphragm is sandwiched between the upper housing and the lower housing, and is fixed to the upper housing and the lower housing so that the diaphragm contacts the first valve seat, the second valve seat, and the third valve seat. The diaphragm divides an inner space of the upper housing and the lower housing to define valve chests together with the upper housing and the lower housing.

Gas control apparatus

A piezoelectric microblower includes a vibrating plate including a piezoelectric element and arranged to be driven in a bending mode by applying a voltage of a predetermined frequency to the piezoelectric element, and a blower body arranged to fix both ends or a periphery of the vibrating plate and to define a blower chamber between the blower body and the vibrating plate, an opening being provided in a portion of the blower body facing a central portion of the vibrating plate. In a portion of the blower chamber corresponding to the central portion of the vibrating plate, a partition is provided around the opening and a resonance space is defined inside of the partition. A size of the resonance space is set such that a driving frequency of the vibrating plate and a Helmholtz resonance frequency of the resonance space correspond to each other.

Piezoelectric microblower

A piezoelectric micro-blower capable of efficiently conveying compressive fluid without use of a check valve and ensuring a sufficient flow rate. The micro-blower has a blower body with a first wall and a second wall. Openings are formed in the respective walls and face a center of a diaphragm. An inflow path allowing the openings to communicate with the outside is formed between the walls. By applying a voltage to a piezoelectric element to cause the diaphragm to vibrate, a part of the first wall close to the first opening vibrates. Thus, gas can be drawn from the inflow path and discharged from the opening in the second wall.

Piezoelectric micro-blower

In a piezoelectric actuator driver circuit, a resistor provided to detect current is inserted in a current path for a piezoelectric actuator. A signal of a decreased voltage of the resistor is subjected to positive feedback to an amplifier circuit via a band-pass filter. An output signal of the amplifier circuit is subjected to negative feedback to the amplifier circuit via a band-elimination filter. The band-pass filter allows a signal of a fundamental resonant frequency of a piezoelectric device, which includes the piezoelectric actuator, to pass therethrough, and the band-elimination filter blocks the signal of the fundamental resonant frequency. Thus, a loop gain at a higher-order resonant frequency with respect to the fundamental resonant frequency becomes very low and a higher-order resonant mode can be effectively suppressed.
