A laser system comprising laser driver/s and controller/s which receive/s, from a pixel source, black and non-black pixel values each associated with a time interval, each including color component/s, and responsively, controls the laser driver to provide, to the laser diode: non-zero current during a first time interval associated with non-black pixel value/s and zero current during a second time interval associated with black pixel value/s. The laser diode thus projects light during the first time interval but not during the second time interval, yielding a display including non-black regions corresponding to non-black pixel values and true-black regions corresponding to black pixel values.

Laser system

A system for controlling laser drivers of lasers, incorporated into optical devices which seek to provide e.g. project laser images including at least one laser image whose pixels are non-uniformly distributed, the system comprising memory which stores desired pixel location data; and a location-to-time converter e.g. hardware processor configured by software or firmware, which is configured to translate the desired pixel location data into time stamps and which, when embedded into an optical device which incorporates a laser having a laser driver, communicates the time stamps to the laser driver.

System, method and computer program product for laser projection

A system and method for providing a dimming factor of N using a laser display device having plural colored laser diodes each generating a colored laser beam according to control parameters. At least one of the control parameters of at least one of the laser diodes is varied, at least one of the control parameters being operative to reduce intensity of at least one of the colored laser beams. Varying may comprise providing a dimming factor of m&#x3c;N using first laser diode data current control apparatus able to provide m&#x3c;N dimming levels and a dimming factor of at least N/m&#x3c;N, using at least a second laser diode data current control apparatus able to provide a dimming factor of at least N/m, but less than N.

Apparatus and methods for dimming coherent light sources

A system for projecting 2D images, providing a computerized representation of a first, dense, grid of spatial 3D coordinates which respectively correspond to a set of time-points evenly distributed along a time-dimension with constant time-discretization; deriving a dense 2D representation of an image, whose coordinate pairs respectively correspond to said set of time-points; d. Defining a sparse 2D grid of second coordinate pairs, spaced such that distances between any two adjacent coordinate pairs along a row of said sparse 2D grid are constant; and finding, coordinate pairs closest to the second sparser grid to yield a third grid, and a laser controller to control the laser to project a digitally represented image, from said distance, timed to project pixels whose locations respectively correspond to the subset of uniformly distanced positions forming said third grid, thereby to prevent image distortion despite non-uniformity of micro-mirror's angular velocity.
