A distributor for a coffee machine and a method for making coffee with options for selected quantity and types of coffee to be served are disclosed. The distributor has three fluid passages and operable between first and second positions. In the first position a first passage is adapted to receive a water and coffee mixture from a first hopper to be delivered to a first brewer or a second passage is adapted to receive a water and coffee mixture from a second hopper to be delivered to a second brewer. In the second position a third passage is adapted to receive a water and coffee mixture from either selected one of the first and second hoppers to be distributed substantial-equally to the first and second brewers. The invention provides a simple distribution system for the coffee machine with options for selected quantities and types of coffee. The invention also advantageously makes it possible to quickly serve a freshly brewed coffee with a selected quantity and type.

An above ground swimming pool is made up of a plurality of posts, wherein each post is a blow-molded unit having a base portion and a top portion with a coping seat. A plurality of coping members also blow-molded are each telescopically received one end to the other at the coping seat of the top of each post, and a one-piece fastener engages the overlapping telescopic ends of the coping members to the top of the post. A bracket is provided at the base of the post, the bracket having a rail for receiving track segments wherein an elongated flexible metal wall is inserted. The coping member retains the top of the flexible wall against the post.

A sport shoe having an upper, a sole having at least an outer sole having a mobile portion at least at the heel portion of the sole which is pivotable about a lateral axis forward of the heel portion. A midsole insert member is insertable between the mobile portion and the upper. The mobile portion includes upper engaging projections cooperating with the upper to prevent the midsole insert from moving laterally relative to the upper when the midsole insert member is introduced between the mobile portion and the upper.

An above-ground pool is made up of a plurality of posts, wherein each post is a blow-molded unit having a base portion and a top portion with a coping seat. A plurality of coping members also blow-molded are each telescopically received one end to the other at the coping seat of the top of each post, and a one-piece fastener engages the overlapping telescopic ends of the coping members to the top of the post. A bracket is provided at the base of the post, the bracket having a rail for receiving track segments wherein an elongated flexible metal wall is inserted. The top of the flexible wall is retained by the coping member against the post.

A weighing scale comprising a housing having an upper platform for receiving a load, and a base; a lever assembly comprising a plurality of levers, each of which is in operative contact with the upper platform and supported by a post element mounted on the base. A cantilever beam is mounted on the base and positioned between the lever assembly and the base. A weight-transmitting pin is provided for supporting the lever assembly and acting on the cantilever beam for transmitting the load from the intermediate cover to the cantilever beam through the lever assembly. A strain gauge element is fixed on the cantilever beam for converting a strain developed therein into an electrical signal. An indicator responsive to the electrical signal is provided such that a displacement of the upper platform into the housing results in a corresponding movement of the levers, and exerts a force on the cantilever beam through the weight-transmitting pin to cause the strain gauge element to develop the electrical signal and causes the indicator to display a weight of the load. The arrangement of the lever assembly and weight-transmitting pin prevents variation caused by differing load positions on the upper platform.

A coffee brewer of the type having an outer fixed cylindrical tube and a fixed piston within the tube. A sliding cylinder slides in sealing contact between the outer cylinder and the piston. The sliding cylinder has a filter at the top thereof. A frame mounts the piston head and the outer cylindrical tube, and motor means are mounted on the frame with a pair of rotors rotatably mounted on the frame, one on either side of the outer cylindrical tube about a lateral axis at right angles to the axial axis of the outer and sliding cylindrical tubes. Each rotor includes an arcuate segment with gear teeth on the periphery thereof. Gear means connect the motor to the rotors for rotating the rotors, and a cam connector connects the sliding cylinder to the rotors for sliding movement of the sliding cylindrical tube during the brewing cycle. A spring mounted sweeper blade extends between a pair of arms, one on either side of the outer cylindrical tube, for sweeping the top of the sliding cylindrical tube and, therefore, the filter. A pour spout is mounted on the frame and is connected to a flexible tube communicating with the sliding cylinder for pouring the coffee from the interior of the sliding cylinder when the appropriate position is reached in the brewing cycle.

A brewer for providing a single cup of coffee which comprises an outer cylindrical tubular member having an open top and a platform formed on the top. A slidable second cylindrical tubular member reciprocates within the first tubular member along the axis thereof and is provided with a gasket at the top thereof in sealing contact with the inner surface of the first tubular member. A permanent filter is provided at the top of the second cylindrical tubular member. A fixed piston head is located within the second cylindrical tubular member and is fixed relative to the first tubular member. A wiper is provided on the top platform of the first tubular member such that when the filter is in its uppermost position, the wiper can be activated to clean the coffee grounds from the filter. A pour spout is provided in the second cylindrical member which communicates with the fluid once the pour spout is above the level of the piston head. In operation, the filter moves downwardly towards the piston head such that air passes upwardly through the water and coffee grounds on the filter to agitate the mixture and then upwardly towards the top of the first tubular member such that a negative pressure is created between the filter and the piston head to draw the solution through the filter and eventually out by means of the spout in the wall of the second cylindrical tubular member.

A rivetless door latch having a housing with a latch bolt having a pair of side plates and pivot pins seated in pivot sockets in the top of the housing and a lever with a dog leg having pivot pins seated in the pivot sockets in the base of the housing. The side plates of the latch bolt have a camming recess adapted to be engaged by camming projections on the dog leg of the lever. A leaf spring is anchored in the base of the housing and urges against the dog leg in a counterclockwise direction.

A paint roller assembly according to the present invention includes a support frame and a roller. The roller has a mounting passage which opens inwardly from one end thereof to a socket located at the other end thereof and the frame has an elongated shaft proportioned to fit within the mounting passage and formed with a plug which is adapted to be seated in the socket to retain the roller on the frame for rotation about the shaft portion of the frame.
