A lighting system according to various embodiments includes a lighting array having a plurality of luminaires and a plurality of sensors. The lighting system also includes a controller configured to operate in at least one from the group including (i) pre commissioning mode and (ii) a commissioning mode. The pre-commissioning mode matches one of the luminaires with a corresponding one of the sensors to create luminaire-sensor pairs and the commissioning mode determines a location of each of the luminaire-sensor pairs.

Methods, apparatus, system and media for use in association with lighting systems

A fluorescent lighting device includes an arc tube, an exhaust tube extending from the arc tube, and an amalgam. A resistive heater is located adjacent to at least one of the arc tube and the exhaust tube. A power supply circuit is operatively coupled with the resistive heater. When the fluorescent lighting device is switched from an OFF state to an ON state, the power supply circuit temporarily energizes the resistive heater, thereby heating the at least one of the arc tube and the exhaust tube while the resistive heater is energized, and automatically de-energizing the resistive heater after said heating.

A light-source assembly includes a low-pressure fluorescent discharge tube arrangement having a cold spot temperature and radiating white light and at least one light-emitting diode radiating red light.
