The composition comprises at least one fragrance oil; at least one entrapment material, the at least one fragrance oil and the at least one entrapment material being capable, in use, of forming an entrapment structure on the surface. The composition also comprises at least one destabilizing material, which permits formation of the entrapment structure on the surface but which destabilizing material can, in use, destabilize the entrapment structure by providing at least one trigger molecule which preferentially associates with the entrapment material; and/or at least one release agent which partially disrupts the entrapment structure; and at least one compatible solvent which doesn't interfere with the formation of the entrapment structure on the surface. The present methods and compositions can improve fragrance perception, by overcoming the differences in fragrance perception that result from different surface, for example, skin, hydration levels and/or different surface types.

Methods and compositions for improved fragrancing of a surface

The present invention provides a method of applying a fragrance to a surface such as skin and/or hair. The method comprises applying to one area of the surface a first composition wherein the first composition comprises at least one first fragrance oil; at least one first cyclic oligosaccharide, wherein the at least one first fragrance oil and the at least one first cyclic oligosaccharide form a complex, which complex is dissolved or dispersed in the first composition; and a first solvent, wherein the first solvent has a dielectric constant at 25&#xb0; C. of greater than or equal to 43. The method also comprises simultaneously or sequentially, in either order, applying to the one area or an area adjacent thereto a second composition wherein the second composition comprises at least one second fragrance oil; and a second solvent wherein the at least one second fragrance oil is soluble or is dispersed at 25&#xb0; C. in the second solvent.

Methods of fragrancing a surface

According to the present invention there is provided fragrance compositions comprising (a) fragrance; and (b) cyclic oligosaccharides having one or more unsubstituted alkyl substituents; wherein the weight ratio of (a) to (b) is at least about 1:1. The compositions of the present invention provide a long-lasting fragrance while at the same time having a 'burst' of fragrance on application.

A detergent composition, having a selected surfactant system for improved performance, especially under high water hardness and low temperature wash water conditions is disclosed. The detergent composition includes a mid-chain branched primary alkyl sulfate surfactant in combination with a linear alkylbenzene sulfonate surfactant, and linear alkyl sulfate surfactant at optimally selected relative proportions. Additionally, the detergent composition contains up to about 5% of an alkyl ethoxylated sulfate surfactant and up to about 5% of a nonionic surfactant while unexpectedly having improved performance with such relatively low levels of a nonionic surfactant.

Detergent composition with a selected surfactant system containing a mid-chain branched surfactant

A detergent composition containing a mixture of linear alkybenzene sulfonate surfactant and mid-chain branched surfactant and an electrolyte is disclosed. The detergent composition includes a mid-chain branched primary alkyl sulfate surfactant and an electrolyte capable of increasing the ionic strength of the compositions resulting in improved performance, especially under low water temperature wash conditions. Typical electrolytes include sodium chloride, magnesium sulfate, calcium carbonate and the like.
