Hydraulic fluid supply unit

A combination gas vaporizer-air filter comprising a housing fuel supply means for fluid to be vaporized and an ultrasonic transducer in the housing for vaporizing fluid from said fuel supply means, air inlet means in the housing, outlet means in the housing and air filter in the housing adjacent the air inlet means. The vaporized fluid and air in the housing being intimately mixed prior to discharge from the outlet means, duct means connecting said housing to the intake manifold of an internal combustion engine. The outlet means communicate with the duct means, whereby the mixture or vaporized fluid and air may pass from the outlet means to said duct and then to said intake manifold.

Carburetion system

An ultrasonic transducer is provided substantially at the hot spot in an engine manifold for vaporizing the fuel from the carburetor prior to entry of the fuel-air mixture into the cylinders. The transducer comprises a crystal adapted to be vibrated at a high frequency on the order of at least 1,000,000 Hz and a resonator tuned to the frequency of the crystal and operatively secured to the crystal, said transducer having an active surface adapted to be contacted by the fuel for finely vaporizing same. The fine vaporization or gasification of the fuel (gasoline, for example) prior to entry into the cylinders causes a more complete burning of the fuel. As a result, the engine delivers more power with less fuel, while carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon emissions are reduced. In operation, the ultrasonic transducer enhances cold weather startup and operation, eliminates engine flooding, smooths out engine idle, and improves pick up and acceleration by increasing power at low engine RPM. Engine power is boosted, while saving gasoline. The ultrasonic transducer can be installed into the intake manifold below the carburetor without modifying the structure of the carburetor or the intake manifold.

Ultrasonic transducer

A device for mounting on the inlet manifold of an internal combustion engine for carbureting liquid fuel. A chamber is provided for receiving the liquid fuel. An ultrasonic generator is positioned in the chamber and is in direct communcation with the liquid fuel in the chamber. The ultrasonic generator acts to ultrasonically vaporize the fuel in the chamber, preferably by an electronic control system. The receiving chamber is interconnected to a gasified fuel storage chamber which acts to store a quantity of vaporized liquid fuel. The storage chamber and the receiving chamber are interconnected for passing vaporized liquid fuel from the receiving chamber to the storage chamber. A monitoring device is provided, preferably an optical density detector, for determining the quantity, as well as the density, of the vaporized fuel in the vaporized fuel storage chamber and a control system responsive to the monitoring device, is provided for controlling the amount of ultrasonic energy used for vaporizing the amount of fuel required for use in the internal combustion engine, as determined by the engine load demand. An air collector is provided for communicating air with the vaporized fuel and also with the receiving chamber for the liquid fuel. A chamber and control valve are provided for regulating the quantity of the vaporized fuel-air mixture to be passed to the engine for combustion. A conduit is provided for communicating the air-fuel mixture with the inlet manifold for passing the amount of air-fuel mixture called for by the engine.
