A sheet packaging material for producing a sealed package of a pourable food product is disclosed. The packaging material may include at least one base layer for imparting stiffness to the sheet packaging material, at least one lamination layer applied to and covering said base layer, and a partially laminated opening zone. The opening zone may include a laminated cutting area having at least three longitudinal portions extending between the center and the periphery of the opening zone, and at least three removable portions adjacent to the laminated cutting area, each removable portion being located between two longitudinal portions and having a folding zone adjacent to the periphery of the opening zone. In use, the removable portions are partly detached from the packaging material by penetration of the laminated cutting area prior to being folded at the folding zone to form an opening in the packaging material for pouring a food product from the package. A sealed package formed by folding and sealing the sheet packaging material is also disclosed.

Sheet packaging material for producing sealed packages of pourable food products

A packaging material, including a laminate with a core material layer and having a plurality of delimited areas intended to form faces of a package is provided. At least one delimited area is provided with at least one pre-laminated hole and at least one compressed feature arranged adjacent to the pre-laminated hole. The at least one feature may include at least one line extending along at least a part of the perimeter of the pre-laminated hole.

Packaging material and a method for providing a packaging material

The present disclosure relates to a packaging material comprising a core material layer having an area radially extending from an edge of a hole in said core material layer, wherein said area has a linearly or non-linearly decreasing core material layer thickness towards the edge of the hole. Cutting tool, and a method for cutting a web or sheet of material

A sheet packaging material includes fold lines along which the sheet packaging material is foldable to form a sealed package containing a pourable food product. The packaging material comprises at least one base layer that imparts stiffness, at least one lamination layer applied to and covering the base layer; and a removable portion which, in use, is partly detachable from a remainder of the sheet packaging material and foldable at a folding zone to free a pour opening by which to pour the food product from the package. The removable portion comprises at least one aperture formed at least in the base layer and covered by a cover material, and the removable portion is crossed by one of the fold lines defining in use an edge between two walls of the package.

A sheet packaging material for producing a sealed package of a pourable food product comprises one base layer, a number of lamination layers covering both sides of the base layer, and a removable portion which, in use, can be detached partly from the rest of the packaging material along at least one arc-shaped cutting line and folded at a folding zone extending between opposite ends of the cutting line to free a pour opening; the removable portion comprises a central area made of whole packaging material and which, in use, remains attached to the rest of the packaging material through a permanent bridge defined by the folding zone, and a peripheral area for cutting interaction, extending around part of the central area, containing the cutting line and including at least one pre-laminated opening formed by a through slot at least in the base layer and covered by one or more of the lamination layers.

A method and/or an apparatus for controlling the register between print and three-dimensional structures, such as creases in the forming of a package, and a method and/or the apparatus for controlling a unit for repeated cutting-out or perforation of a material web from which the packages are formed. In the control, a focused, high intensive light beam, such as a laser line, is laid in a bisecting direction to relevant creases. The position of the crease or the creases is determined by sensing of a deflection of the projected laser line. Diffuse light from the laser line may be used in order to register the position of a register marking. If the difference between the register marking and crease differs more than a predetermined value, the creasing tool and/or printing press is automatically adjusted.

Method for controlling the register between a printed pattern and a three-dimensional pattern on a packaging material

A process of manufacturing sealed packages containing a pourable food product from a web packaging material moving along a predetermined path involves providing a recurring pattern of printed register marks on the web packaging material, applying a recurring pattern of bend or fold lines on the web packaging material as a function of the detected position of the printed register marks, generating new references, distinct from the bend or fold lines, on the web packaging material in a synchronized way with the application of the recurring pattern of bend or fold lines; and performing one or more subsequent operations on the web packaging material based on a synchronization pulse created by detection of the new references.
