In a cross cutting device for a winding machine having at least a first carrier roll ( ) wrapped by the web to be wound and a second carrier roll, both carrier rolls forming a winding bed for at least one roll ( ) to be wound around a winding core ( ), particularly for winding paper in form of one web or several webs in parallel, a cross cutting device to cut through the web after completion of a roll ( ) is formed near the front end of a support beam ( ) being conductible through a clearance gap (G) between a first and second carrier roll into a cutting position of the cross cutting device which is located at or close to the surface of said first carrier roll ( ). Said support beam ( ) can be pressed by means of a finished wrapped roll ( ) against said wrapped first carrier roll ( ). The cross cutting device, further, comprises a clamping device being conductible counter to the web running direction into the clamping position and there, overlapping the arriving web edge of the next roll to be wound, securely clamps said arriving web edge independently of the cross cutting device. Said cross cutting device being conductible back through the clearance gap (G) between said carrier rolls to its home position and after one or several new winding core or cores has/have been loaded said clamping device being detachable from the web edge and being conductible back in the web running direction to its home position.

Cross cutting device for a winding machine

A rider roll arrangement adapted for use in a web winding device including at least one winding supported during winding, the rider roll arrangement including a rider roll for pressing against the one winding, the rider roll comprising a support beam and a plurality of weighting rollers mounted to the support beam. Each pair of the weighting rollers includes a bracket for mounting the roller on the support beam, and each weighting roller includes two end to end cylinder piston units that are connected to the bracket and that are located entirely within the respective roller.

The invention pertains to a load roll arrangement for loading a winding arrangement with one or several wound rolls on the same axis, during the winding of a web-like material, particularly paper, onto winding cores in a multiple-drum winder wherein support drums form a winding bed, in which the winding arrangement, rotating about its axis, is supported, with a support beam (,), vertically movable dependent upon the wound roll diameter, with a multipart load roll, consisting of a number of load rollers (,), which, individually with respect to the support beam (,), are vertically movable on a mounting arrangement and can be maintained in contact with the wound roll along a nip, with means for the fluid-like, particularly hydraulic, pressing of the load rollers (,) against the winding arrangement, and with an additional adjustment device, by means of which the mounting arrangements (,) of the individual load rollers (,) can be moved to different heights, independently of each other with respect to the support beam (,) according to the specifications of the resulting differences in diameter of the winding cores. In order to apply the rolls in the presence of varying wound roll diameters, due to the additional adjustment arrangement (,) of the invention, it has become possible to bring the load rolls hanging on the support beam at more greatly varying heights, and in this way to adapt the load rolls to a &ldquo;diameter profile&rdquo; that results along the winding bed from winding cores that differ from each other.
