A novel fluid supply cup comprises a flexible liner integral with a container having an opening and a vent. A novel method of manufacturing a lined container comprises the steps of molding a container having a vented thick-walled portion and an integral flexible thin-walled liner, and folding the thin-walled liner into the thick-walled portion. Finally, a novel method of applying a fluid comprises the steps of providing a flexible liner integral with a container having an opening and a vent, loading fluid into the liner, engaging the container with a fluid applicator, flowing the fluid out of the liner into the fluid applicator, collapsing the liner, and flowing the fluid of the fluid applicator.

Disposable paint cup attachment system for gravity-feed paint sprayer

A packaging container is formed form a preformed, rigid first unit of U-shaped cross-section having a generally flat base wall and opposing side walls and a preformed, rigid second unit of U-shaped cross-section having a generally flat base wall and opposing side walls. The second unit is configured so that the side walls of the first unit are fitted within and embraced by the side walls of the second unit when the first unit and second unit are assembled as a container. The opposing side walls of the first and second units each having an embossing formed therein, such that the embossing of each side wall of the first unit engages the embossing of a corresponding, mated side wall of the second unit. The engaged embossings secure the first and second units to one another. The package can include integrally formed end closures.

Packaging container with integral rigidizer

A packaging container is formed from a single preformed, rigid unit of U-shaped cross-section having a generally flat bottom wall. The unit forms two end closures from first and second closure panels extending from both ends of a main body portion. The closure panels are foldably connected to the main body portion and each other by first and second fold lines. The main body side walls have straight-cut corners at junctures with the first closure panels, and the first closure panel side walls have straight-cut corners adjacent to the main body, forming square corners when folded. The first closure panel side walls also have straight-cut corners adjacent to the second closure panels, and the second closure panels side walls have straight-cut corners adjacent to the first closure panels, forming square corners when folded to form the end closures.

Single piece packaging container

A packaging container is formed from preformed, rigid base and cover units of U-shaped cross-section having a generally flat bottom wall. The base unit is configured so that its side walls fit within and are embraced by side walls of the cover unit when assembled as a container. The base unit forms an end closure from first and second closure panels extending from an end of the base unit. The closure panels are separated from the base unit and each other by first and second fold lines. The base unit side walls have straight-cut corners at a juncture with the first closure panel, and the first closure panel side walls have straight-cut corners adjacent to the base unit, forming a square corner when folded. The first closure panel side walls also have straight-cut corners adjacent to the second closure panel, and the second closure panel side walls have straight-cut corners adjacent to the first closure panel, forming a square corner when folded to form the end closure. A device for cutting and embossing the packaging container is also disclosed.

Straight-edged packaging container and device for forming same

A rotary torsion cutting apparatus is provided for cutting an article. The cutting apparatus includes a first plate member having a front face, a back face and a side face. The first plate member further includes a central axis and a first opening extending from the front face to the back face of the first plate member. The first opening is shaped and dimensioned for receiving an article to be cut by the rotary torsion cutting apparatus. The cutting apparatus also includes a second plate member having a front face, a back face and a side face. The second plate member further includes a central axis aligned with the central axis of the first plate member and a second opening extending from the front face to the back face of the second plate member. The second opening is shaped and dimensioned for receiving an article to be cut by the rotary torsion cutting apparatus. In addition, the second plate member is rotationally supported upon the first plate member for rotation relative thereto about a complete revolution. The first opening and the second opening are of substantially the same shape and are aligned for simultaneous positioning of an article within both the first opening and the second opening. Relative movement between the first plate member and the second plate member causes a torsion cutting of an article positioned within the first opening and the second opening.

Rotary torsion cutting apparatus

An adjustable adapter includes two arms, each having an axis, a surface substantially normal to the axis, wherein the surfaces of the arms face each other, an end and a passageway for fluid communication between the end and the opening, wherein one of the arm ends is for connection to an inlet of an applicator and the other arm end is for connection to an outlet of a container, and a fastener for pivotally coupling the arms. One of the arm surfaces is provided with a groove in fluid communication with both arm openings. The groove is sealed to prevent fluid from leaking from between the surfaces. When the fastener is in a rotation-resisting mode, the fastener forces the surfaces of the arm toward one another sufficiently to increase friction and resist rotation therebetween, and when the fastener is in a rotation-permitting mode, the fastener releases the surfaces sufficiently to decrease friction and permit rotation therebetween.

Adjustable adapter for gravity-feed paint sprayer

Disclosed herein is a unique torsional cutting apparatus. Two plates, referred to as a stationary and rotating plate member, are positioned and held in place next to each other using any convention means such as spring tensioned bolts. There is a zero gap between the two plate members. A hole in the general shape of the object to be cut is fashioned through the two plate members so that the object to be cut can be placed into and through the hole. The hole is tapered towards the center of the rotary torsion cutting apparatus thereby allowing ease of insertion, a more precise cut, and the elimination of burring.

A fluidic connector comprises an independent adjunct to a pneumatic tool and is adapted to be fluidically interposed between an air supply hose and a fitting of the pneumatic tool. The connector comprises a piston-type valve member. Exhaust generated from each fastener firing operation or cycle maintains the piston-type valve member at a first position so as to permit the incoming air supply to reach the tool, however, if the tool is not fired within a predetermined period of time, the piston-type valve member is automatically moved to a second position which prevents the air supply from reaching the tool thereby disabling the same.

Delay-interruption connector for pneumatic tool

A fastener detection system is provided for both internal combustion and powder actuated fastener driving tools, and similar powered fastener driving tools. A sensor disposed at a portion of a fastener supply path detects the presence or absence of a fastener. In the combustion tool, either or both of fuel delivery and combustion ignition are disabled when no fastener is detected. In the powder actuated tool an indicator notifies an operator when the sensor detects the absence of a fastener. The indicator may also be incorporated into the combustion tool.

Fastener detection and firing control system for powered fastener

In a combustion-powered, fastener-driving tool with a combustion chamber, a piston chamber communicating with the combustion chamber, a driving piston movable within the piston chamber between an initial position and a terminal position, and a driving blade mounted to the driving piston so as to be conjointly movable with the driving piston, the driving piston, the driving blade, and the piston chamber are arranged so that combustion in the combustion chamber imparts energy to the driving piston and the driving blade so as to drive the driving piston and the driving blade from the initial position toward the terminal position with the driving blade preceding the driving piston, over a stroke having a length sufficient to enable the driving blade to transfer more than eight tenths of the maximum, transferable energy to a fastener engaged by the driving blade as the driving piston and the driving blade approach the terminal position. The piston chamber has an inner, cylindrical wall. The driving piston has an annular portion with an annular groove seating a piston ring or has two axially spaced, annular portions, at least one of which has an annular groove seating a piston ring engaging the inner, cylindrical wall. The driving piston, the driving blade, and the piston chamber are arranged so that the driving piston and the driving blade are guided solely within the axial length of the driving piston, over at least substantially all of the stroke.
