An image forming apparatus includes an attachable/detachable storage unit having a positioned portion projecting downstream in an attachment direction of the storage unit, a conveyance member, an image forming unit to form an image on a sheet conveyed by the conveyance member, and a conveyance unit to move between a first position and a second position. Engagement of the positioned portion with a positioning portion of the image forming apparatus causes the storage unit to be positioned with respect to the image forming apparatus. The conveyance unit includes a contact portion and a depressed portion. In a case where the contact portion of the conveyance unit comes into contact with the storage unit and the conveyance unit is moved from the second position to the first position by the storage unit, the positioned portion does not come into contact with the depressed portion of the conveyance unit.

Image forming apparatus

A sheet feeding apparatus includes a supporting portion to support a sheet, a feeding portion to feed the supported sheet, and a base member opposed to the supporting portion so the sheet is supported by the supporting portion between the supporting portion and the base member. A regulation unit includes a regulation portion to regulate a position of an edge portion of the supported sheet and moves in a moving direction, and a sensor outputs an output value that changes in accordance with an amount of movement of the regulation unit. The sensor and the regulation unit are supported by the base member, and the sensor is supported by the base member at a position above an abutment position between the sheet supported by the supporting portion and the feeding portion in a gravity direction.

Sheet feeding apparatus and image forming apparatus

A feeding apparatus includes a sheet supporting member, a feeding member, and a lift unit. The lift unit lifts and lowers the sheet supporting member to abut a sheet stacked on the sheet supporting member against the feeding member. The lift unit includes an urging member that biases the sheet supporting member towards the feeding member, a moving member that moves in a first direction different from a sheet supporting member lifting direction, and a contact member in contact with the moving member. The contact member includes a curved cam surface in a region that comes in contact with the moving member. A contact state between the moving member and the contact member is changed by moving the moving member in the first direction and the curved cam surface. Regarding changing the contact state, the sheet supporting member can be moved to a feed position and a retracted position.

A sheet feeding device for feeding a sheet includes a support unit, an open-close member rotatably supported between open and closed positions, a slide member supported in a slidably movable manner and including a rotation shaft portion, and a regulation member supported by the slide member. The open-close member supports the sheet in the open position with the support unit. The regulation member regulates a position of the sheet supported by the support unit or the sheet supported by the support unit and the open-close member. The support unit includes a guide portion that movably guides the rotation shaft portion. If the open-close member is rotated from the open position toward the closed position in a state in which the open-close member is in contact with the slide member, the slide member rotates by following movement of the open-close member with respect to the guide member.

Sheet feeding device and image forming apparatus

A sheet feeding apparatus includes a body portion with a supporting portion to support a sheet and a feed portion to feed the sheet, a pivoting portion arranged upstream in a sheet feeding direction of the supporting portion, and a slide portion supported slidably on the pivoting portion. A first regulating portion abuts against the slide portion and regulates the slide portion from moving downstream in the sheet feeding direction, and a second regulating portion regulates a position of the sheet supported on the supporting portion. A guide portion is formed across the supporting portion and the slide portion and guides the second regulating portion between the supporting portion and the slide portion along the sheet feeding direction, with the second regulating portion moving on the supporting portion by being guided by the guide portion in a state where the second regulating portion is separated from the slide portion.

An apparatus includes a cover including a protrusion and provided to be movable, and an abutment unit provided to be capable of abutting the protrusion and including a second member for applying a force to a first member of an image forming apparatus. The abutment unit includes a first surface which abuts the protrusion in a case where the cover is shifted from an opened state to a closed state and a second surface which abuts the protrusion in a case where the cover is shifted to the closed state after having abutted the first surface, and the protrusion is applied a force from a rotational force of the abutment unit when the protrusion abuts the second surface, and the second member of the abutment unit applies a force to the first member when the cover is in the closed state.
