A fixing apparatus to fix a toner image to a printing material while nipping and conveying the printing material at a fixing nip includes a film, a guide member, a nip-forming member in a recess of the guide member, a roller, a support member, and a moving mechanism. The guide member in an inner space of the film guides film rotation. The roller is in contact with a film outer circumferential surface. The roller sandwiches the film with the nip-forming member to form the fixing nip. When disposed in the recess, the nip-forming member is movable in a direction parallel to a conveying direction of the printing material. The support member is fixed to an end of the nip-forming member in a longitudinal direction. The moving mechanism moves the support member relative to the guide member in the direction parallel to the conveying direction.

Fixing apparatus to fix a toner image to a printing material

A heating device including: a rotating member for heating, an opposing member, which is arranged so as to be opposed to the rotating member, and forms a nip portion together with the rotating member, and a biasing member, which is arranged inside the rotating member, has an opposing surface with respect to an inner peripheral surface of the rotating member, and biases the rotating member to the opposing member. The inner peripheral surface and the opposing surface are brought into contact with each other via a grease composition to form a sliding portion. The grease composition contains a base oil. The base oil contains a fluoropolymer having a specific structure and a perfluoropolyether having a specific kinematic viscosity and a specific evaporation loss and having a specific structure.

A toner conveying device includes a container, a rotating member having a protruding portion inside the container, and a stirring member of toner. A first region and a second region on the opposite side are provided inside the rotation trajectory of the rotating member in a state without contact with the inner surface of the container. The protruding portion is provided between a first position in which a second straight line that is perpendicular to a first straight line that divides the rotation trajectory and passes through the center of the rotating member and is in the second region, and a second position in which a third straight line that is perpendicular to a contact line passing through a contact point between the container and the stirring member, passes through the center at the time of deformation of the stirring member and is in the second region.

An image forming apparatus includes a plurality of image bearing members, a transfer unit including an intermediate transfer belt, a plurality of transferring members which sandwich the intermediate transfer belt between the plurality of image bearing members and themselves, a biasing member which biases each of the plurality of transferring members toward the plurality of image bearing members via the intermediate transfer belt, and a frame which supports the intermediate transfer belt, the plurality of transferring members, and the biasing member, and an apparatus main body which supports the plurality of image bearing members and the transfer unit. The apparatus main body includes a supporting portion which supports the transfer unit and a biasing force receiving portion of which a position is between the plurality of transferring members in a moving direction of the surface of the intermediate transfer belt and which is capable of supporting the transfer unit.

Provided is a driving force transmitting mechanism including: a first rotating member which rotates around a first rotation axial; a driving force transmitting member which rotates together with the first rotation member, and to which driving force is transmitted from the first rotating member; a cylindrical shaft which contacts with the first rotating member in a diameter direction, and which includes an engaging portion to engage with the driving force transmitting member, and is coaxially rotated with the first rotating member by the driving force from the driving force transmitting member at the engaging portion; and a second rotating member which is rotated around a second rotation axial, disposed next to the first rotation axis in an axial direction, by the driving force transmitted from the cylindrical shaft. The first rotating member includes at least one contacting portion that contacts with the second rotating member.
