A vehicle lighting apparatus can help improve irradiation for different speeds of an automobile. The vehicle lighting apparatus includes lamps for installation at front portions of an automobile. An irradiation direction of the lamps can be deflected in left and right directions based on a steering operation of a steering apparatus, and a rate of change of a deflection angle of the lamps with respect to the steering angle is made smaller as the vehicle speed increases to a high speed.

A power-window safety device which includes an annular magnet mounted on a rotary shaft ( ) of a drive motor ( ) for opening and closing a window glass of an automotive vehicle, and a magnetic flux sensor ( ), disposed facing the annular magnet ( ), for sensing a change of a magnetic flux developed from the annular magnet ( ), which change in flux is caused by rotation of the rotary shaft ( ). The magnetic flux sensor includes Hall ICs ( A and B). An operational element ( A, B) performs a process of linearly approximating a sinusoidally varying voltage output from a Hall element ( A, B) which is provided in association with the operational element, and produces an output voltage (VA, VB) thus processed. Every angular position of the rotary output shaft, or every opening/closing position of the window glass, is detected over the range of one complete rotation on the basis of the output voltages (VA and VB) that are generated through the rotation of the rotary shaft ( ). A safety control operation is carried out, to prevent an object from being caught, on the basis of the detected position.

Safety device for power window

A safety device for accurately preventing the catching of a hand or neck of a passenger of a vehicle between a windowpane and a window sash uses a potentiosensor for detecting the rotational angular position of an output shaft adapted to rotate at a slower speed by reducing the speed of a rotating shaft of a driving motor for opening and closing a windowpane of a vehicle with a speed reducing mechanism . This potentiosensor comprises a resistance track plate on which circular resistance track and conductor tracks are formed, and a rotating plate having conductive brushes adapted to slide over the resistance track plate . The windowpane position is detected based on a resistance value outputted when the conductive brushes are rotationally moved on the resistance track in response to the rotating position of the rotating plate . The resistance track is supplied with a higher voltage and a lower voltage at diametrically opposite positions, respectively, and the conductive brushes are constructed so as to output voltages which are divided at a rotating angle of 180 degrees. This enables not only the detection of the windowpane with high accuracy but also the miniaturization of a power window apparatus and simplification of the construction of a circuit thereof.

Safety device for power windows

A safety device for a power window in which window glass of a vehicle is made to undergo an opening or closing operation by a driving motor, and which effects safety control against the nipping of a foreign object by detecting the opening and closing positions of the window glass, comprises: a position sensor for detecting the position of an angle of rotation of the driving motor; a detector the opening or closing position of the window glass based on an output of the position sensor; and a controller for effecting safety control against the nipping of the foreign object based on the detector.
