An electric vehicle includes a motor and a controller. The controller is configured to; based on determining that the electric motor is in the locked state, set a search target torque greater than a value of torque demanded by a driver, and execute an increase of the motor torque up to the set target torque; upon making a determination that the locked state is ceased, store a value of the target torque at a time of making the determination, and execute a decrease of the target torque; and when a second value of the torque demanded by the driver becomes the value of the target torque or more after the decrease of the target torque, set a second value of the target torque in accordance with the second value of the torque demanded by the driver, and drive the electric motor in accordance with the set target torque.

Electric vehicle

A vehicle control apparatus includes one or more processors. The one or more processors execute determination as to whether a driving state of the vehicle involves difficulty in continuing the automatic driving. In a case where the driving state is determined as involving difficulty in continuing the automatic driving, the one or more processors execute determination on a difficulty level of operation authority transfer from the automatic driving to the manual driving on the basis of information regarding a surrounding environment of the vehicle, information regarding a driving skill of a driver, and information regarding an experience level of the driver of the operation authority transfer. The one or more processors execute setting of a driving-state condition for executing the operation authority transfer in accordance with the difficulty level. The one or more processors execute the operation authority transfer in a case where the driving-state condition is satisfied.

Apparatus for switching control between automatic driving and manual driving in vehicles

An estimation apparatus performs non-contact estimation of a friction coefficient of a road surface. The estimation apparatus includes at least one processor. The processor determines a state of the road surface and determine which of preset road-surface states the state of the road surface belongs to. The processor performs primary identification of a first range of a friction coefficient corresponding to the determined road-surface state on the basis of friction coefficient information and the determined state of the road surface. The friction coefficient information is sectioned for each of the road-surface states. The processor narrows down a range of the friction coefficient from the first range to a second range on the basis of the identified first range of the friction coefficient, and thereby perform secondary identification of the friction coefficient of the road surface. The second range is narrower than the first range.

Estimation apparatus and vehicle

A driving assistance apparatus configured to assist driving of a vehicle includes one or more processors and one or more memories communicably coupled to the one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to execute a process including determining whether the vehicle is in a situation in which the vehicle is obstructing passage of a following vehicle; that the vehicle is in the situation, determining whether a driver of the vehicle is aware of the situation; upon determining that the driver is aware of the situation, determining whether the driver is able to determine a driving operation for avoiding the situation; and, upon not determining that the driver is able to determine the driving operation, setting an assistance operation for avoiding the situation, based on consciousness of the driver and a width of a road on which the vehicle is traveling.

A road-surface state determination apparatus performing non-contact determination of a state of a road surface includes one or more processors. The one or more processors control a light source emitting each of three near-infrared lights having respective wavelengths different from one another, thereby cause the three near-infrared lights to be applied from the light source onto the road surface, and cause a light reception sensor to receive the three near-infrared lights reflected by the road surface. The one or more processors perform primary determination as to whether a type of the road surface is a snow accumulated state in precedence over other types on the basis of a light reception result obtained by the light reception sensor, and thereafter perform secondary determination as to which one of the other types the type of the road surface is on the basis of the light reception result.

Road-surface state determination apparatus

A power distribution apparatus for an electric vehicle includes a power distribution mechanism configured to distribute power output from an electric motor to front and rear wheels, and a controller configured to control the power distribution mechanism. The power distribution mechanism includes a first clutch configured to fix a power distribution ratio during straight traveling to a first distribution ratio at which first power distributed to the rear wheels and second power distributed to the front wheels are nearly same, and a second clutch configured to fix the power distribution ratio during straight traveling to a second distribution ratio at which the first power is larger than the second power. The controller is configured set the second clutch to an engaged state and sets the first clutch to a half-engaged state during regenerative braking.

A vehicle control apparatus to be applied to a vehicle includes a driver state-value detection processor, a road-surface-state detection processor, a threshold setting processor, a dangerous-driving determination processor, and a determination threshold changing processor. The driver state-value detection processor detects a state value of a driver who drives the vehicle. The road-surface-state detection processor detects a road-surface state of a road on which the vehicle is traveling. The threshold setting processor decides, based on the state value, one or more determination thresholds of a state to be determined as occurrence of dangerous driving. The dangerous-driving determination processor determines that the dangerous driving is occurring in a case where the state value is present within a range outside any of the one or more determination thresholds for a predetermined time period or more. The determination threshold changing processor changes the one or more determination thresholds based on the road-surface state.

A control apparatus for a vehicle includes: a first road surface friction coefficient calculator; a second road surface friction coefficient calculator; and a braking and driving force controller. The first road surface friction coefficient calculator calculates a first road surface friction coefficient that is a friction coefficient of a road surface in a contact with a wheel. A control device of a vehicle includes a motor controller. The motor controller is capable of controlling a motor configured to generate a driving force of the vehicle, and switching between a first driving mode for driving the motor while using a continuous rated torque as an upper limit and a second driving mode for driving the motor while using a maximum rated torque as an upper limit, the continuous rated torque being lower than the maximum rated torque generatable by the motor.
