A driver monitoring device is provided. The driver monitoring device includes a detection unit that detects an unbalanced posture of a driver based on an image of a driver's seat of a vehicle captured by a camera; a determination unit that determines whether or not the unbalanced posture of the driver detected by the detection unit is a habitual posture of the driver; and a notification unit that notifies the driver of the unbalanced posture in different manners in accordance with whether the unbalanced posture determined is the habitual posture of the driver or the unbalanced posture determined is other than the habitual posture of the driver.

Driver monitoring device

A state monitoring device mounted in a vehicle includes: a light emitter to emit light to irradiate a predetermined area; an imaging unit to image an imaging area including the predetermined area; a state monitoring unit to monitor a state of the driver based on an image generated by the imaging unit; a state determination unit to determine whether the driver is ready to drive the vehicle or unready to drive the vehicle; and a light emission control unit to execute specific processing to lower a light emitting function of the light emitter when the state determination unit determines that the driver is unready to drive the vehicle, specific processing to lower a light emitting function of the light emitter and not to lower the light emitting function of the light emitter when the state determination unit determines that the driver is ready to drive the vehicle.

The biosensor receives at least one sleep-affecting activity value from the user. The biosensor computes recommended bedtime information based on the at least one sleep-affecting activity value in view of the relation information. A wakefulness maintaining apparatus includes an event detecting part, a drowsiness level determining part, a threshold setting part, and a stimulus supplying part. The event detecting part detects an event related to a drowsiness of a person. The drowsiness level determining part determines a drowsiness level that changes in accordance with a strength of the drowsiness. The threshold setting part sets a threshold value to divide the drowsiness level into a first level range and a second level range in such a manner that the first level range is equal to or lower than the threshold value and the second level range is higher than the threshold value. The stimulus supplying part supplies a stimulus having an awaking effect to the person when the drowsiness level is in the second level range and the event is detected.
