A side airbag apparatus deployed between a vehicle compartment sidewall and a vehicle occupant. The airbag has an upper chamber, a lower chamber, and a middle chamber formed between the upper and lower chambers. The middle chamber is deployed prior to the timing of deployment of the upper and lower chambers.

Side airbag apparatus

Airbag apparatus includes an airbag having at least two bag body sections superposed on each other. Gas flow-in portion for connection to an inflator is formed in one of the bag body sections adjacent to one edge of the one bag body section. Communicating hole is formed in the plurality of bag body sections adjacent to the other edge of the one bag body section. Upon activation of the inflator, gas is supplied into the one bag body section, through the gas flow-in portion, to develop the one bag body section. After that, the other bag body section superposed on the one bag body section is developed by the gas supplied through the communicating hole.

Vehicular airbag apparatus

This air bag device includes: an air bag which is arranged between an under-window panel and a lining that covers a cabin interior side thereof, and develops upward along an inner surface of a window; and a pressing member which presses a bottom portion of the air bag toward the under-window panel while developing the air bag. The bottom portion of the air bag and the under-window panel overlap with each other at a predetermined length along a vertical direction.

Air bag device

An air bag device comprising an air bag that is disposed between an under-window panel and a lining that covers a cabin interior side thereof and deploys upward along an inside surface of the window; and an impact absorption member that interposes between the air bag and the lining.

An occupant protection device that is provided in a door on the side of a vehicle, including an inflator that has an end portion at which a fluid delivery port is formed and delivers a fluid during a vehicle collision, and an expanding body that expands by the fluid fed by the inflator to cover the inside surface of a window provided in the door, with the end portion of the inflator being directly inserted in the expanding body, and the inflator being provided on the side of the door to be mounted to the vehicle body in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle.

Occupant protection device

A passenger protecting apparatus is composed so that an airbag is provided above a door opening of a vehicle body in a folded situation, is inflated and unfurled downward in gas inflow, is fixed to said vehicle body by a fitting through a bracket and the bracket positions a through-hole, through which the fitting to fix the bracket to the vehicle body is inserted, below the airbag attached to and housed in the vehicle body.

Passenger protecting apparatus

An occupant restraint system includes an airbag having at least one vent hole and an inflator. The airbag is inflated by a gas generated by the inflator when there is a vehicle collision, and deploys into a curtain shape along an inner side face of an occupant compartment. Since the vent holes, through which gas is discharged from an inflatable part of the airbag, are made to open downward at the lower edge of the airbag, not only is it possible to reliably prevent the inflatable part from being excessively inflated, and thereby from becoming hard resulting in a failure to gently restrain an occupant, but also it is possible to prevent the vent holes from being blocked by the vehicle body or an occupant, thus reliably exhibiting a gas discharge function and preventing the gas discharged though the vent holes from directly impinging on the occupant.

In the automobile sun visor of the present invention, a body of the sun visor is placed on a shaft connected to a bracket fitted to a ceiling surface of a cabin of the automobile body in a rotatable manner. A bearing member into which the shaft is inserted is provided on an end portion of the body. On the bearing member, a communicating member coming into contact with a stopper provided on the shaft is provided. A key shaped groove which can pass through the stopper is engaged with the stopper at a place deviating from the rotation range of the body to insert the shaft into the bearing member.

Automobile sun visor

An airbag system includes an airbag arrangement being expanded at a side of a vehicle compartment by igniting an inflator based on a signal from a collision-detecting sensor arrangement in the event of a collision of the vehicle, wherein the airbag arrangement includes a front seat-protecting airbag and a rear seat-protecting airbag, the collision-detecting sensor arrangement includes at least a front seat-detecting sensor for detecting a side impact occurring near a front seat and a rear seat-detecting sensor for detecting a side impact occurring near a rear seat, and the front seat-protecting airbag is expanded when the front seat-detecting sensor detects a side impact, the rear seat-protecting airbag is expanded when the rear seat-detecting sensor detects a side impact.

Airbag system

An occupant restraint system includes an airbag and an inflator. The front end of a gas supply pipe, which extends from the inflator housed in a rear pillar to the interior of the airbag and guides the gas generated by the inflator to the airbag, is substantially vertically aligned with front portion of a rear wheel wheelhouse of the vehicle. Since the gas supply pipe can be positioned in an area in which the vehicle body rigidity has been increased by the rear pillar and the wheelhouse, it can be effectively prevented from being damaged due to the impact of a side collision of the vehicle. Moreover, since the inflator is housed in the rear pillar, which is wider and more rigid than a front pillar, it is possible to minimize or effectively prevent damage to the inflator.

Occupant restraint system

A vehicular occupant restraint system is provided with an airbag and an inflator. A front end of the folded airbag is housed within a front pillar garnish covering a side face on the occupant compartment side of a front pillar, and impact absorbing ribs are formed on the inner face of the front pillar garnish only in a section(s) that receives little deformation when the airbag is deployed. Since the front pillar garnish can be easily flexed when the air bag is deployed, there is neither inhibition to the smooth deployment of the airbag nor splitting and scattering of a part of the front pillar garnish. Moreover, since the impact absorbing ribs are formed on the front pillar garnish in the section(s) that receives little deformation, the impact of a secondary collision to an occupant can be absorbed effectively by the impact absorbing ribs.
