A wireless communication apparatus includes a wireless communication device configured to be capable of executing wireless communication using radio waves, an optical space communication device configured to be capable of executing optical space communication using spatial light, and a communication controller that causes secure communication with another wireless communication apparatus to be executed in a data link layer by performing parallel control on the wireless communication device and the optical space communication device.

Wireless communication apparatus, wireless communication method, and wireless communication system

A spatial light transmitter of a content supplying system stores ID information of its own and emits spatial light on which the ID information is superimposed from a light emitting portion. A spatial light receiver is used by being connected to a handheld terminal and receives spatial light emitted from the spatial light transmitter. When a user carries the handheld terminal and moves close to the spatial light transmitter, the spatial light receiver receives spatial light emitted from the spatial light transmitter, and ID information obtaining means of the spatial light receiver obtains the ID information which is superimposed on spatial light from a light receiving signal of the light receiving portion, thereby outputting the ID information to the handheld terminal. Alternatively, the ID information obtaining means of the handheld terminal obtains the ID information on the basis of the light receiving signal, and the handheld terminal reproduces the content selected on the basis of the ID information.

Content supplying system which uses spatial light transmission

The spatial light communication device is constituted with a spatial light transmitter which is installed in a fixed manner in a plurality of places, stores preset ID information of its own and has a light emitting portion for emitting spatial light on which the ID information is superimposed, and a spatial light receiver which is connected to a handheld terminal, has a light receiving portion for receiving spatial light emitted from the light emitting portion of the spatial light transmitter and also has a light receiving circuit for amplifying and outputting a light receiving signal of the light receiving portion. The spatial light receiver is provided with a connector portion which is connected to a microphone input terminal of the handheld terminal as a terminal for outputting a light receiving output signal of the light receiving circuit to the handheld terminal.

Spatial light communication device

A visible light communication apparatus is constituted with a transmitter for illuminating and projecting visible light on which an information signal is superimposed from a lamp fitting and a receiver for receiving the visible light to take out the information signal superimposed on the visible light. The transmitter modulates a transmission information signal, driving a light projecting element of the lamp fitting so as to superimpose the transmission information signal on the visible light of the lamp fitting, thereby radiating white light containing a blue light component as visible illumination light. The receiver receives the white visible light containing the blue light component radiated from the transmitter and generates a receiving information signal from the light receiving signal on a receiving circuit. A blue light photodiode which receives blue light at the highest sensitivity to output a light receiving signal is used as a light receiving element of the light receiving unit. The lamp fitting for radiating the white light containing the blue light component on the side of the transmitter as visible illumination light and the blue light photodiode for receiving blue light on the side of the receiver at the highest sensitivity can be used to perform visible light communications at high speed, while illuminating by the white light.

Visible light communication apparatus

The reflective collection-type light receiving unit of the present invention is a reflective collection-type light receiving unit having a light receiving element which receives spatial light on which an information signal is superimposed after being reflected and collected via a concave mirror. The light receiving element is arranged approximately at the center inside the concave mirror, with the light receiving plane thereof facing to the reflection plane of the concave mirror. A pair of electrode leads connected to both electrodes of the light receiving element are extended so as to be opened from the center on the front plane of the concave mirror to both sides and connected to a light receiving circuit by way of the lateral plane of the concave mirror.
