There is provided a light diffuser which can alleviate glare of light emitted from a light source while preventing a decrease in brightness of the emitted light despite the presence of the light diffuser. The light diffuser, contains a thermoplastic resin and transparent particles added thereto. The light diffuser has a total light transmittance in a range of 50 to 85%, and a wavelength selectivity in a rectilinear light ratio in a range of 1.5 to 5.0, as obtained by following formulas (1)-(3):(wavelength selectivity in rectilinear light ratio)=(rectilinear light ratio of 550-nm light)/(rectilinear light ratio of 450-nm light)&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)(rectilinear light ratio of 550-nm light)=(rectilinear light transmittance for 550-nm light)/(total transmittance for 550-nm light)&#x2003;&#x2003;(2)(rectilinear light ratio of 450-nm light)=(rectilinear light transmittance for 450-nm light)/(total transmittance for 450-nm light)&#x2003;&#x2003;(3).

Light diffuser and its use

Spacer particles for a resin composition layer have a compressive strength at 10% compressive deformation (10% compressive strength) at room temperature (rt) of 0.05 to 10 MPa, have a rate of change in 10% compressive strength-by a temperature change from rt to 50&#xb0; C. of 5% or less or have a rate of change in 10% compressive strength by a temperature change from &#x2212;20&#xb0; C. to rt of 30% or less, and have a volume average particle diameter of 2 to 200 &#x3bc;m and a coefficient of variation in particle diameter of 15% or less.

Spacer particle for resin composition layer and use thereof

A light diffuser and its use are provided, which not only reduces a color change in a source light when the light diffuser is disposed on an optical path of a light source, but also has a good light transmission property and a good light diffusion property. The light diffuser contains a thermoplastic resin and transparent particles added thereto. The total light transmittance of the light diffuser is 75% or more. The degree of dispersion of the light diffuser is 2&#xb0; or more, the degree of dispersion being defined as a transmission angle at which a light transmittance is 50% of a rectilinear light transmittance when light is emitted to a surface of the light diffuser in a direction normal to the surface. The difference between the rectilinear light transmittance at 460 nm and the rectilinear light transmittance at 580 nm of the light diffuser is 0.96% or less.

Light diffuser and use thereof

Porous resin particles are disclosed that comprise a polymer of a monomer mixture. The monomer mixture includes: a mono(meth)acrylate-based monomer in an amount of 3 wt % to 40 wt % containing: an ethylenic unsaturated group only in a (meth)acrylic acid residue; and a hydroxyl group and at least either an ether group or an ester group in an alcohol residue; another monofunctional vinyl-based monomer in an amount of 10 wt % to 69 wt % containing a single ethylenic unsaturated group; and a polyfunctional vinyl-based monomer in an amount of 30 wt % to 70 wt % containing two or more ethylenic unsaturated groups.
