Method of assembling a gearshift member to a steering wheel main body

An illuminated switch comprising a four-way knob and a push knob, wherein the push knob has two legs which slide along a guide surface on an internal pusher member. Tilt activation of the four-way knob results in the push knob also being tilted. When the user has pushed the push knob while the push knob and the four-way knob are in a tilted position, the push knob in conjunction with the four-way knob linearly move backward in the pushed direction, whereby an internal switch and an external switch are operated. The push knob is illuminated by an internal LED by way of a through hole in the internal pusher member.

Illuminated dual action switch

A third insulator of a washer switch constituting the second electrical switching unit is set to be long in the axial direction, the insulator is provided with fixed contacts extending in the axial direction and at the same time a base portion thereof is provided with connecting terminals, and the connecting terminals are disposed in the vicinity of the connecting terminals of a wiper switch constituting the first electrical switching unit. Second lead wire and third lead wire are connected to the connecting terminals, respectively.

Since a MIST position is set to be positioned next to an AUTO position, when a control lever is operated from the AUTO position to the MIST position, the control lever can be so operated through one step without having to pass through another operation mode position, whereby by operating the control lever from the AUTO position to the MIST position to be held operative in the position, the wiper can be put in operation. In addition, by operating the control lever to stay in the AUTO position, the wiper can automatically be put in operation according to the amount of rain.

Automotive windshield wiper switch

The present invention is for enlarging the moving stroke of a movable member according to rotation of a lever. Operation projecting portions for moving a contact holder are provided in a moderation piece provided in the base end portion of the lever, movably in the axial direction. When the lever is rotated in the arrow A direction, the moderation piece moves in the arrow B direction while sliding a cam surface. According thereto, the operation projecting portions press the inclined surface of guiding portions so as to move the contact holder in the arrow C direction. At the time, since the moving amount of the moderation piece in the axial direction can be added to the moving stroke L,of the contact holder, the moving stroke L,of the contact holder can be enlarged compared with the case with the operation projecting portions provided in the lever.

A cancel mechanism of a turn indicator includes a projection adapted to rotate along an outer circumference of a steering wheel shaft. A bracket is positioned around at least portions of the outer circumference of the shaft. The bracket is rotatable in a generally circumferential direction around the shaft between an inactive position and an active position. A ratchet, having a first and second end, is positioned with its first and second ends in slidable engagement with associated first and second ends of the bracket. The ratchet also includes a projection retaining portion for retaining the projection when the shaft is turned in a canceling direction thereby returning the bracket to the inactive position. A biasing mechanism biases the ratchet toward the bracket. When the bracket is positioned in the active position and the shaft is turned in a direction opposite to the canceling direction, the projection comes into contact with the ratchet (i) causing the first end of the ratchet to slide along the first end of the bracket in a generally radially outward direction relative to the shaft and (ii) causing the second end of the ratchet to slide along the second end of the bracket in a generally radially inward direction relative to the shaft, thereby allowing the projection to pass by the ratchet without substantially moving the bracket.
